"I am lovesick
And cannot be without my love any longer."

Emptiness. That was all Alec has felt since the moment she left. After centuries without even seeing her, without seeing her beautiful smile, without holding her body tightly to him as if she might slip away at any moment, and eventually she did. And it was all his fault, he was too blinded by revenge, he never paused for a moment to think about her, and eventually he faced the consequences.

When he first realized she left, he locked himself in his room for weeks, not once getting out, he even ignored the humans that his masters and sister would force into the room. It just didn't seem right without her, he craved to hear the sound of her voice, even if it was just for a second. And when he decided to get out of his room, all his sadness morphed into anger, at her, at himself, at everything. He kept himself busy with things to do, hunting, killing humans and vampires, he became a killing machine, never once showing any mercy. But every time he paused she was on his mind, and it was driving him crazy.

He was sitting on a tree, letting his feet dangle above the pond, staring at his wrist, around it was a bracelet, it was made out of black leather cords that were woven together. He still remembered that day in all it's details.

Around the 800's A.D:

Alec's head was laying on Melione's lap as she worked on something, that day the twins were turning 16 and Mel was set on gifting them something.

"Lionne!" He whined, "Can you tell me what you're doing now?" He asked as he wrapped his arms around her waist still laying down.

"Be patient, it's almost done." She shot back as he groaned nuzzling his head into her stomach.

"And..." she trailed as she tied the last two thin ropes together, "Done." She finished with a satisfied grin. Alec shot up and glanced down at her hands. She was holding out two leather bracelets, one was black, and the other was white.

"Give me your hand," He did as told, and soon the band was around his wrist.

"It looks amazing Lionne, thank you." He said as he got up, pulling her with him and wrapping his arms around her, kissing her softly before whispering "I love you."

She smiled at him and answered, "I love you too."

Mel gasped and then started running into the woods, heading towards the village, "Where are you going?" Alec screamed while chasing her.

"I need to give Jane her gift!"

He couldn't believe his eyes once he saw her in that field, he didn't even know what to feel, he had thought she was dead for a while by then. But there she was, in all her glory, still as gorgeous and fearless as ever, she talked with Aro, the most feared vampire in the world with so much ease. She always was like that, always saying what's on her mind, treating everyone the same, and in the way they deserve to be treated in.

"What are you doing here?" He didn't need to look up from his hand to know who it was.

"I'll join you later, right now I would rather be alone."

His sister sighed knowing what was bothering him, and joined him, "It's incredible how much this place is similar to home." She glanced at him, "How are you brother?"

Now was his turn to sigh, looking up at Jane, "I just wish it would have turned out differently, you know? She's everywhere, in my mind, in my imagination, she's everywhere I go, just...not physically. She had this way of making everything feel better, remember?"
