I have not heard your voice in years,
But my heart has conversations with you every day.
Here he was back on the cliff, last time he was there it was filled with laughs with the one he keeps going back to. He had just gotten back, he was even starting to win her again, he was getting accustomed again to her eyes that stole his heart since the start, her smile that gave him life again. But unfortunately for him, things never go his way.
"You know you can come closer." He said after feeling her presence.
Footsteps approached him and a body flopped down next to him, feet dangling from the cliff. He turned around and his eyes met her dark red orbs. "You realize it's dangerous to be alone, especially when there's a war that might happen."
Alec scoffed, "Might? Come on Melione."
"I'm surprised you remember my name after all those years. I guess Rufus was right, you and your sister are vengeful souls."
"Ah yes I forgot, you're now just as bad as him. And yet you still came to see me, your curiosity always was too much."
"You don't know me nor do you know anything about my curiosity."
Alec chuckled, "You'd be surprised. I know you hate the smell of cheese, you love flowers and making bouquets out of them, you love making up songs and humming them."
Melione's eyes widened and she jumped to her leg grabbing Alec's shirt, "How do you know all that?"
"When you're sad you like to be hugged, and when you're mad you hate it when someone touches you, and your favorite color is light green, do you know why?" He leaned closer, "Because they remind you of my human eyes."
She glared at him, "You're speaking nonsense. I never even saw your human eyes, I never cared." Mel moved away from him and started moving backward.
"Mel, listen to me." Alec urged following her movements.
She raised her arm and with a flick of a wrist two huge humanoids made of shadows appeared next to her, "I would suggest you back off right now, but I wouldn't mind seeing you try."
"Look, don't you sometimes feel like something is wrong? Like something is missing from your life?" Mel didn't answer him, she just watched him curiously. "Just answer me truthfully and I'll leave you alone if that's what you wish for." He held a hand out carefully as if any sudden movement might make her snap and disappear.
She cocked her head at him, "Why should I trust you."
"I can't force you to, but deep down you know you can." He saw her eyebrows rise as they always did when she was growing curious. Mel then nodded her head and the shadows dissipated.
"Go ahead." Alec encouraged.
Mel gave it some thought, he knows something, surely he could help her with her problem, "Sometimes I blackout, I don't fall asleep but it's like my mind closes down and pictures appear in my head," She started wearily, "A girl with blonde hair whos back is turned to me, and then there's this weird family," She frowned, "And light green eyes." She ended with wide eyes.
Alec smiled softly, "Those aren't just pictures Lionne, those are memories, memories that have been blocked from your mind and replaced by other false ones."
She shook her head frantically backing away, "No no no no no, you're mistaken, this is just a plan to get me to join your side."
"Can't you feel this?" He flashed over to her and grabbed her arm, "Can't you feel the spark when I touch you? Or my smell? That is not just the result that we're mates in this life, it's always been you, you and me, and it will always be us." His other hand was now on her waist, Melione seemed to be frozen either it was from shock or it was the effect of his touch. "Look," he whispered next to her ear making shivers go up her spine "I know this is hard for you, and I can't force you to believe me, my room at the castle has been soundproofed and Dimitri is away from the castle gathering help, if you ever want to find out more come and find me, I'll be there." Alec moved away slowly and reluctantly. "See you soon, hopefully." And he flashed away.
When he arrived at the castle a voice stopped him, "I was right after all."
"Indeed you were Edward."
"Her memories of you are just too strong to be fully forgotten," Edward stated.
"What happens now?" Asked Daniel.
"The only thing we can do now is wait." The mind reader said before they all went their own ways.
