Alex's POV

Today was the day. I was getting married. Not 10 years ago I was in a basement writing for my life in the middle of a hurricane. But look at me now!! I'm in my home with mah dudes getting ready.

Herc was admiring his work in my coat. He really is talented. Laf was wiping away tears in the corner mumbling something in French. John was smiling. It wasn't an ear to ear or a happy smile. No this was more of a sad smile. He came up to me and gave me a hug.

Why'd he smell like- cinnamon... his bushy hair was in my face and since he was taller than me he was leaning on me. I struggled to stay upright but when he pulled away, I saw tears in his big doe eyes. "What's wrong Laurens?" I asked genuinely.

He nodded and replied, "I-I-I'm just s-s-so pro-ud of you" he sobbed. He took a second and cleared his thought and said in a more clear but still sad voice, "you did it Alex. You got the girl. You got her helpless. You got her for the rest of your life. And you looked good doing it. I just can't believe the tombcat can get married?!" He smiled.

I would've been good with that and all, if he wasn't lying. I've been studying law and living near and around lying people all my life. I know a lie when I see one.

I sighed, "laurens, do not throw away your shot"

Angie's POV

I was standing there in my white dress. It was even puffier than I imagined. Alexander's mother stood over me, fixing my veil. Peggy was doing my hair. Eliza just sat in a corner.

She gave me a sad smile. I wonder what's wrong.

Alexander's mother stood back. She put one hand on her mouth and the other on her chest and gasped. "My my, you look beautiful! Oh dear, my son gets to marry you?! Keep him in line alright?" She laughed with her eyebrows raised.

"Why thank you mrs Hamilton, you are very kin-"

"OH NO NO!! You must call me mom" I smiled at the sudden outburst. We have each other a hug and she went to get seated. It was just us three.

The Schuyler sister. Angelica, Peggy, and Eliza. "Oh gosh, where did the time go! It seemed only yesterday that Peggy was throwing worms she found at the garden and Eliza and I were learning to embroider. Mother was such a wonderful teacher wasn't she?" I sighed. We all teared up at the mention of mother. Tears started to fall down my face.

Eliza wiped them away and held my cheeks. "Oh angie. Mother is here. She's with us. She is smiling down because you are about to get married. She always talked about our wedding day. Now it's finally here. I don't think she would miss it" silent tears flowed down all of our cheeks. "That's Why your wearing mother's veil. So you know she's here."

We cried for a while. After about a minute Peggy added, "You were never good at embroidery anyways. You would always poke your finger or me when I threw a worm." Peggy always knew how to lighten the mood. I don't know how I could ever live without my sisters.

Eliza's POV.

I watched as my beautiful sister made her way down the isle. I just wanted to reach out and hug her.

I was seated in between Peggy and a man named John laurens. He was cute not going to lie. He had freckles EVERYWHERE and a light blush. His long bushy hair rested in a ponytail in the back of his head. Then I looked at his eyes. They were gorgeous but sad. No tears but still sad. He looked like he had just lost a loved one.

I looked back at the alter. The Preist then said, "any objections?"

I didn't even realize it but I was raising my hand, slowly, quietly. I looked at it and saw john's hand was also moving up. He looked horrified at it. Then we made eye contact. He seemed to be examining my face. A loose smile appeared on his face.
