Ann's POV
It was moving day, I didn't really want to move. My parents recently got a divorce, of course my mom is making me and her move far away. Like out-of-state far away. We're moving from Kentucky to North Carolina. This sucks, I don't want to move. I have all my family and friends, and everything I enjoy here. For some reason my mom thinks it's best to start over.
"Come on hun!" My mom said patting the passenger seat next to her. 8 hours of sitting in this annoying moving truck. I just looked out the window. As we passed the "You're now leaving Kentucky" sign I had tears rolling down my face, to my neck.
"Ann, you're only 14, you'll survive." My mom told me when she noticed I was crying.
"I know. I'll just miss it here so much. I'll miss everything; our family, my friends and everything." I said as I was wiping the tears with the sleeve of my hoodie.
"Don't worry you'll find new friends and we'll visit Kentucky a lot. There's a lake right by the house. You'll love it." She tried to cheer me up, "you never know, you might like it more than Kentucky, once you find new things to do."
"We'll see." I sighed and she gave me a small smile.
I felt my mom shake my shoulder to wake me up, I some how fell asleep between the small gas station in Tennessee and North Carolina. "We're here!" She said excitedly. I got out of the truck, I never saw the house until today and it was beautiful. Everything was spaced apart, which is totally okay with me, I don't lime being close to everyone.
"Come here, I wanna show you around the house" She said. She looked so happy, I couldn't stop smiling. Seeing her this happy, made me really happy. I looked up to her, she was such a caring and inspiring person.
I looked around, observing everything around me. We walked into the living room, the kitchen, dinning room, and my mom's new office. "This is the office I'll do most of my work in and I'll keep all the supplies in. I'll possibly put your granddad's old clocks and other things he gave me before his passing." I nodded. And we looked around the rest of the house. It was really pretty, maybe I'll get used to it sooner, rather than later.
