Ann's POV;
"Hey mom, hey Elizabeth" I said walking in.
"Hey honey, what are you up to?" My Mom responded.
"Nothing really, what about y'all?" I asked.
"Just talking about the trip" Elizabeth said taking a drink of her coffee.
"I'm so excited" I said before I was cut off.
"Ann!" Sky yelled running to me, as usual.
"Hey!" I said picking her up.
"Well I bet I smell. I'm going to take a shower" I said.
"Good idea. You smell like outside" Elizabeth told me jokingly.
"Haha. Very funny" I faked laughed, and ran upstairs. I went to my room first to look for something to out on, I found a black crew neck sweat shirt that said "Lol you're not Luke hemmings" in white and a pair of track shorts.

I turned the water off, grabbing my towel and wrapping it around my body. I quickly got dressed, I left the bathroom not even brushing threw my hair.
I heard Hayes' voice when I started to walk down stairs.
"Do you like Ann?" I heard my mom ask him, I decided to listen in on their conversation. I heard Hayes say, "No, I like her as a friend. We're just friends.."
I could feel the sadness taking over my body. I ran to my room, all my hopes of him liking me back went down. I'm glad I didn't take everyone's advice and try to make the first move. I paced back and forth thinking about going downstairs or just sitting in my room.

I walked down and he was in the living room, just sitting there. I tried my best not to look at him, because I knew he wouldn't look at me back. I feel so stupid for thinking that he would ever like me, everyone gave me hope of thinking he would. They would tell me ways of how he did, and a part of me believed them. I knew somewhere deep down, I shouldn't have.

He kept trying to ask me what was wrong. I was trying hard not to say anything, and I managed to.
I know; I shouldn't go out because its getting late, but I just had to, I just needed to be alone.
I sat down at the end of the dock, the sun was setting. It reminded me of when I was down here with Hayes on his birthday-Ann stop thinking about him! You're supposed to be clearing your mind from him. That didn't last long, because here he came, sitting right next to me.
"Hi.." He said, I just looked at him. "Are you mad at me? Did I do something?"
I shook my head, "I did"
"What did you do?" He looked confused.
"Nothing, just ignore it. Its stupid, so what are you doing?" I said.
"I came down here to look for you, I knew you would be down here. Why did you leave?" He asked.
"I wanted to be alone for awhile.." I signed.
"Do you still wanna be alone? Do you want me leave?" I shook my head.
"Good, I wasn't gonna leave you anyways" I knew he wouldn't. "Look the sun is going down, it's kinda funny we always come here at the same time; when the sun goes down" I just nodded my head in agreement. There was a moment of silence, it was a peaceful silence. Something I needed, maybe he needed it too because he didn't say anything.
"Hayes?" I broke the silence.
"Yeah?"
"How would you feel of you had a big crush-no not even a crush-maybe more than a crush on someone, and everyone kept telling you that they liked you the same way, and small parts of you believed them. But then one day you find out they just like you as a friend?" I asked him.
"Horrible. Devastated, I would be heart broken. Especially because you're not even a crush?" I looked at him confused. "Ann I like you. A lot, like I just want to be with you all the time. I want to hold your hand, kiss you. Oh man, do I wanna kiss you. I've never said that about anyone-any girl!"
"Then kiss me" I stopped him before he continued. He did so, his lips were on mine. At first it felt weird, because he's my friend but I've always liked him more than that, so that quickly went away. It came back after realizing it was my first kiss.
"So you like me back?" He said, after stopping the kiss.
"Yes" I nodded, not able to stop smiling.
"How long?" He asked.
"Since we first started hanging out, the night we had that deep conversation. But why did you tell our moms' that you liked me as a friend?" I looked at him.
"Because they might change their minds about the trip. I need you to come" he said.
"Oh" I smiled, "well when did you?"
"When I first saw you.." He blushed, "when you walked down your stairs, carrying a box, that I guess didn't go upstairs. I couldn't keep my eyes off of you" I was now the one blushing.
"So that night we talked, were you talking about me?" I asked, he nodded.
"Was I the one you were talking about?"
"Yeah.."
"So what does this make us?" He asked.
"I don't know. Do you want to, ya know, date?" I questioned.
"Do you?" He asked back.
"Yeah I do.." I gave him a sky smile.
"So we're dating. We're dating. I, Hayes Grier, is dating Ann Moore!" He shouted, causing me to laugh really hard.
"Shh! It's late, people are starting to lay down" I calmed down a little.
"I'm just so happy" he kissed my cheek.
"I'm happy too, glad actually!" I said, smiling. "But we should get back home." I stood up, and he did the same.
We walked into my house and everyone was in living room eating pizza, "where did you two go?" My mom asked.
"The lake, we just talked" I shrugged, acting like nothing happened.
"Well come eat before the pizza gets cold" she added. We both got a slice and sat down on the couch next to each other.
