Hayes' POV;
There I sat on my bed, staring at the wall, then looked down at my shoes. I heard a knock on the door. I knew it was Nash, because he knocked 3 times. "Go away Nash" I said.
"Hayes, why are you hiding in your room? What happened? Did she say no? Can you talk to me?" He asked. I got off the bed, and opened the door. "What happened?" He asked, sitting down.
"Did you notice how I was away from the party for a bit?" He nodded, and I continued. "I was at the lake, later Ann came down, it would've perfect. I was just about to ask her, I got to the words "go out" and she stopped me cause her phone rang. I thought she wouldn't answer but it was her mom. When she was done talking she asked me to walk her home, I tried to a stop and ask her right there, but she said her dad was here and she got a little mad. She said I would have to wait another time to ask her if I wanted to do it there. I ended up not asking her there and walked her home. I went back home and waited for everyone to leave, but they seemed mad at me too. Once everyone left, I thought about it. I went to her house and of course I was about to ask her and she stopped me. Then she told me that she was going to visit her dad for awhile, possibly a month! So like what's the point if she's just going to be gone?"
"I'm sorry" Nash put his head down.
"No it's not your fault, I should've asked her no matter what. Or when you guys told me" I said, "I'm just mad that I didn't ask her, that's all"
"You really like her, don't you?" He asked.
"Yeah" I smiled slightly.
"when does she leave?"
"I don't know. I'll talk to her tomorrow to find out"
"You could call her now?" He suggested
"Yeah" I said putting the pass-code in.
"Hello?" she answered.
"Hey" I said.
"What's up?" She asked.
"I'm just hangin' with Nash. I was just wondering when you're leaving for Kentucky?"
"Oh, well my dad said that we are going to leave around 12:00 tomorrow."
"Oh," I said in disappointment.
"Is there something wrong?" She asked, I could hear her moving around.
"No, of course not!" I lied, of course there was something wrong.
"Okay, is that all you wanted to know?"
"Yeah. I'll try to see you before you leave"
"Okay, but you don't have to, I'll see you soon" she said.
"Well I am. Goodnight now" I said.
"Night Hayes" she hung up, making the line go dead.
"When is she leaving?" Nash looked up from his phone.
"Tomorrow, at 12.." I was still upset about today.
"So are you going to ask her when she comes home?" He asked
"Honestly; I don't know" I shrugged
"Okay" he nodded in response.
"I'm going to sleep now, you can sleep there if you want" I pulled the covers up more, and Nash did the same.
