Tuesday
Omg, today was supposed to be my first day of school, but they ended up cancelling school this morning because the power at the school is out. That means I get an extra day to study for my apush test!! I finished the homework on Sunday, and I really only studied yesterday. So I plan to spend lots of time studying today. When I woke up this morning, I sat in bed for a few minutes and saw I had a few texts from Mia and Ella in a group chat (Paige is also in the group chat, but she didn't text in it until later), so I texted them back. We were just talking about school and everything. Then I got up to go to the bathroom and get ready at 6:07, and then a few moments later, my Mom came in and told me that school is cancelled. I was super happy. Then everyone started texting about school being cancelled. I ended up going back to bed a bit later, around 7.
Yesterday, we also had our first cheer practice. We did a parent meeting at the beginning and then moved on to regular practice. I also found out we are not going to be allowed to stunt during the first month of cheer because of the coronavirus. Then while we were practicing, the power went out, and we all moved to the bathroom because a storm was coming. We ended up having to leave practice early.
I did go clothes shopping a few days back. I got a couple of new pairs of jeans, a few shirts, and two new dresses. I really love this one dress I got. It's white and has flared out long sleeves. Then on the top, it has red beads and different patterns on it. Then the bottom of the dress is drapey and looks super cute. However, I'm not going to wear it on the first day of school.
Tomorrow I'm going to wear a purple dress that I wore to my sister's graduation. The dress is lavender and is a v-neck, so I'm going to wear a white lacey bralette underneath (the bralette is sorta a high-neck bralette, that way I don't have lots of exposed skin.) The dress isn't form-fitting and drapes a little. I love drapey dresses. Then I'm going to wear my platform sandals with it.
I'm honestly not super excited to go back to school. I really don't know how well I'll do this year. All my classes seem hard, so I'm super nervous. I'm also not sure how well I'll do on my apush test tomorrow. I really hope I do okay. I also don't know how this year will go because of the coronavirus and the restrictions that might be in place.
I only have three types of masks. I have a white N95 mask, a blue mask (the one that most stores have out if you don't have one), and I have a black mask that on the side says in small lettering "United States" with an American flag underneath it. The N95 mask and the blue mask I have multiples of. My go-to mask is my N95 one because it's white and matches everything (yes, I still care about fashion during this time somehow haha), and it also is a good protective mask. My mom ordered my family gray masks and black masks, but I'm not sure when those will come in.
I also started packing my lunch that way, I won't have to think about it in the morning. I only packed the items that don't need to be refrigerated. Then I know where the cold items are in the refrigerator that I plan to pack.
I feel like this school year is going to be super weird. However, I think that we are going to be doing our normal lunch situation. Zoey sent me a picture of the paper that tells you which lunch you'll have based on who your 5th-period teacher is. I have A lunch which really stinks. Who wants to eat at 11? I know that Zoey, Ella, Natalie, Ally, Anne, Charlotte, and Olivia also have A lunch. Mia and Paige have B lunch :(
What's weird is that I feel like summer break was super short, which makes no sense because I haven't been to school since March 13th and then did online school until May 1st. Then I had three months of summer break. I also haven't been to actual school in 152 days, which is a lot of days and almost half a year. I honestly feel like going back to school is going to weird. Like it's just been so long, I won't know how to act. I hope all goes well tomorrow.
