Salimat's povSalimat was entranced by the intricate drawings of the henna artist, she could feel the cold touch of the Lalli, she couldn’t help but stare at the beautiful contrast of the red against her pale smooth skin, which had undergone vigorous pampering cut cee of her Mother, whom had insisted she had her ‘gayran jiki’ like any normal bride.
The Henna artist soon finished her designed and Salima was quickly knocked back to reality at the surprising end of her henna design.
There is sat in red bold cursive writing at the center of her right palm ‘Najib Muhammad Lawal’, to salima it was a disturbing reminder that she was about to become a somebody’s wife, in more accurate terms, a stranger’s wife, a stranger whom was supposed to be her sister’s husband.
That little ninny voice at the back of her mind which sounded awfully like Dije’s voice kept nagging and judging her , ‘Husband snatcher’ it said, ‘you will always be second choice’ it said.
Speaking of her sister, she hasn’t seen her for the past few weeks and Salima was immensely grateful for that, she wasn’t sure she could face dije with the crushing guilt she was feeling.
