Connor and Kate stood staring at the large white building that stood on the surface of the moon. When Connor had left the Dome to explore the surface of the moon with Kate, he noticed the giant building off in the distance. It had a large central area, and long tunnels circled the central area, leading off to the other smaller areas. Kate had seen the building too, but she didn't seem to really care.
"Umm, Kate, that wasn't there yesterday."
"No it was. We just never passed it. I found it before I seen you bouncing around like a lunatic."
"Or was I bouncing around like a lunartic?" Connor had a huge grin on his face. He definitely thought his joke was funny.
"Not funny!" Kate reached over to Connor and hit him hard on the arm.
"OUCH! What was that for?" Connor winced in pain when he touched his, now sore, arm.
"Ah! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you! I'm really sorry! You can hit me back if you want!"
"Its fine Kate. I know you didn't mean to hurt me. I just now know not to make you mad." Kate sighed in relief. "But seriously, how do you hit so hard? For someone with no muscles like you, you're actually really strong." Kate looked behind Connor and pushed him to the ground.
"Dome Heads! They're behind you! Quick behind that rock, and be silent. They may not be friendly, like you and Ella." Connor did as Kate said and crawled up behind the nearby rock. They stayed silent, and if it wasn't for Kate's breathing, he wouldn't even had known she was there. Connor saw the humans walk around the surface of the moon. They seemed to be talking to each other, but they were too far away for Connor to hear. Kate had a nervous look on her face, and seeing Kate like that made him a little nervous too. Kate had seen many humans come to the moon before, and having them here shouldn't be a problem for her anymore. She should be fine.
The humans began to walk closer, and Connor could start to hear their conversations. From the way that Kate had a serious look on her face, she could hear them too. Kate was easy to read. Her face said it all. Her expression showed how she would feel, and in the short time Connor had known Kate, he learned how to clearly read her face.
"Hey, Joe, what are your thoughts about the plan?" said the first human.
"Well, I don't think we can last long on the moon, and even if this is a last ditch effort to save ourselves, I don't think it will work."
"Your so pessimistic. We weren't allowed to go to Mars, and even if we have a chance of living just a little longer on the moon, we should take it."
"And you James, are overly optimistic. I don't know how we can be twins. We are polar opposites." The two humans walked dangerously close to the rock Kate and Connor were hiding behind. Kate shifted over to another rock, farther away from the human twins.
"EEEEEK!" The scream was ear splitting. It came from the rock that Kate was behind. Connor looked over at Kate. A set of hands held her in a tight grip. The other two humans went over to help Kate's captor. Kate looked over at Connor and the look in her eyes told him everything. Save yourself. Connor just couldn't leave Kate alone. But he also couldn't risk revealing himself to the humans.
"Who do we have here? Is it the fabled Moon Girl?" Kate looked terrified. Her whole body was shaking, and her eyes were wide with fear.
"Yes I know about you. My great-grandmother Ella talked about you. I didn't believe her at first. But my sister did. And now that I have proof, I believe the stories too. Now, I believe you owe her a favour right? Well I am here to reclaim that favour."
"Sorry, but the favour was already repaid. And I won't help the person who is currently holding me captive." Kate was a kind girl. Connor was surprised to see her not jumping at the chance to help someone. The grip on Kate tightened.
"Fine. Then I shall just take you back to my base. I will research you. I will learn about you, Moon Girl. I need to know everything I can about you." No. Kate was about to be taken away. And Connor couldn't do anything to save her. The twins took Kate by the arms, and pulled her up. Kate struggled, kicking and screaming, but the two humans were strong enough to keep her still. Kate must have learned fighting was futile, because she stopped struggling, and just stared at the ground. The twins dragged her towards the huge white building.
"You know where to take her." The three humans walked towards the building. The second day that Connor knew Kate and she's already being . I think life on the moon is going to be a lot more interesting than I first thought. But first things first. I have tosave Kate!
