Connor was running towards the Dome. It had to have some things Connor could find useful. Food and Water was a necessity, as he couldn't live without it, and the Dome was the only place on the moon where he could find it. He didn't even know where the people that captured Kate get food and water from.
Connor scanned all of the houses. Nothing in any of the houses had been moved in a long time, all except for the house Kate lived in. There were paintings on the walls of most houses, usually of a family, or sometimes of a pretty landscape. He didn't know what the Lunarians used to paint the paintings, it was just another one of the many mysteries of the moon.
Connor grabbed everything he thought would be useful, and set off to the building where they took Kate. Connor had put some food and water in a bag he found, and attached a small knife to his belt. He hoped he never had to use the knife, but it was a precaution. Connor knew that it may come in handy if he needed something sharp to cut a rope or something, but if he had to use it against another living being, he didn't know if he could use it.
Connor grabbed his bag and headed towards the exit to the Dome. He liked it in the dome, as gravity worked like it did on earth. He wasn't sure why, but just like all the other mysteries of the Lunarians, he was probably never going to find out.
The tunnel that led to the surface of the moon was dark, and without any light source, he had to feel his way along the wall and tripped over rocks many times. Whenever he was in this tunnel with Kate, she would take the lead and warn him of rocks or turns. Her night-vision must be pretty good to see in this darkness. That, or she had walked through it enough to know the layout of the tunnel like the back of her hand. Knowing Kate, it was probably the second reason.
After what seemed like hours, Connor made his way out of the tunnel. The gravity soon turned off, and until he got his footing, he was jumping around like an idiot. He ran-hopped towards the building where they held Kate. It was fairly far from the Dome, but it stuck out like a sore thumb on the surface of the moon.
Connor eventually got close enough to the building to be able to see it. He stopped to take a break, moving around on the moon was hard. It tired him out much too quickly. As he sat down on the ground, a white light appeared in front of him. It obscured his vision, and was so bright that Connor had to shield his eyes. The light eventually subsided, leaving in it's place a small child.
The child looked a lot like Kate, but with a few major differences. The child was definitely a Lunarian, but something was off about her. If you looked at her the right way you could see right through her, and she glowed. A pale light seemed to radiate from her, although it wasn't as bright as the light before.
"Who are you?" Connor asked. The girl turned towards him and smiled.
"I'm a ghost silly! What else would I be?" The girl answered, giggling.
"A g-g-ghost? I thought that ghosts didn't exist!"
"They usually don't. But I used the scrolls of life while I was still alive so that I could come back after I died if I needed to. And I need to talk to you."
"Why do you need to talk to me? I'm not that important, am I?"
"Well, not really. It's not you that's important. It's Kate. She is the last Lunarian, and If our species is to live until the end, than she needs to survive. We have to last until the very end!"
"I'm going to rescue her. She's being kept in that building. All I have to do is get in, get Kate, and get out."
"It won't be that simple. And what I need to tell you about is the Humans plan."
"The humans... Plan? You mean the ones on the moon, the ones on Mars, or the ones left on Earth?" Connor asked.
"Ummm... The ones on Mars. It's not the ones on Earth, 'cuz their gonna die, it's not the ones here, 'cuz their also gonna die off... Yeah! It's the ones on Mars."
"So, what are the humans planning?" Connor was already annoyed. This ghost talked way too fast, and way too much.
"Well, the humans are planning to blow up Earth. And the blast is supposed to hit the moon too, or at least send it flying into the sun, or something, but the people in that building are hoping that the blast won't affect them! There's also something about political turmoil, meat, and roses."
"You talk so fast it's hard to process that."
"The people on Mars are going to blow up the Earth! Which will drastically affect the moon! Listen to me for once!"
"Their going to blow up Earth? And I have been listening the entire time!"
"Yes. And if it does destroy the moon, we want Kate to have lasted until the very end. It's our race's last wish. You have to help us grant it! Please save Kate! Before it's too late!"
"I was going to do that anyway!" I can't just leave her to be researched, or killed, or turned into a killer robot bent on destruction... Actually, I don't want to think about what they are going to do to her.
"Get going! Before the Earth get's blown up!" The ghost said, a smile on her face as if the Earth getting blow up was a normal thing.
"I can't believe they're going to blow up the Earth. If they do that, then the moon will be destroyed too, right?" Connor asked.
"Yes. If the Earth is destroyed, the moon will go out of orbit, and who knows what will happen then." The girl replied.
"That means me, Kate, even those people who captured Kate will die..."
"Go save Kate already! Please! I can't delay you any longer! This is goodbye! I will see you again when you die! See ya!" By the time that the girl had stopped talking, Connor was already halfway to the building.
