“Heh. You let your guard down. Who’s the idiot now?” Connor said. Murashi had completely forgotten about him when he knocked Kate unconscious.

Connor really didn’t get why she had to constantly be unconscious. It’s helpful for them, but giving her a concussion may not be the best plan.

“Sideath! Explain to me why you need Kate so much! She is the last of her kind, and if you research her, eventually she will die, and your research will mean nothing!” Connor asked.

“We have much reason for keeping her. If we trade her off to the humans on Mars, then we won’t have to die! We have a way so that we can be with our families, and we can live on! I… Just don’t want to die.” Sideath said.

This caught Connor off guard. Murashi took this chance and lunged at Connor full force, knocking Sideath over in the process. Murashi hit Connor head on, knocking him to the floor.

“Murashi… You imbecile. You hurt me too! And you probably damaged the alien!” Sideath said. Right, Kate was being held by Sideath when he was knocked over. Connor got back up and stared at Sideath who was checking Kate for injuries.

Connor took the chance and ran at Sideath, hoping to steal Kate away from him. Murashi was still looking dumbfounded at Sideath, and Sideath himself was too busy staring at Kate.

Just before he could grab Kate, Sideath lifted his hand and grabbed Connor’s arm. Connor tried pulling his hand away, but it was no use.

“Stop interrupting. If you want the alien that badly, then you’ll have to die.” Sideath stood up and placed Kate on the bed. He looked up at Connor and gave him an evil glare that sent chills down his spine.

“Hope you have a good time. In the afterlife! Mwahahahaha!” Sideath said. He lunged at Connor at a speed far faster than Connor could ever run. He grabbed Connor by his neck and lifted him into the air.

“You’re going to die.” Sideath said.

“Not… Before… I save… Kate!” Connor said, struggling to get free from Sideath’s grip.

“Death awaits you.” Sideath then tightened his grip on Connors neck, and Connors vision began to blur. The world began to spin around him. He no longer could feel Sideath’s death grip, but instead, the icy hands of death itself, calling himself forth into the darkness.

“I… Won’t…DIE!” Connor managed to cough out before his vision faded to black.

I’m sorry Kate. I failed you. I wish I could have saved you, but my death has come to soon. I hope that you can find a way out yourself. Please forgive me.
