Blake sat down a plate in front of me as he sat down next to me. As much as I wanted to eat, I pushed it away. Blake pushed it back to me.

"I'm not hungry!" I said as I pushed it back to him.

"Your stomach says something different." he said. I looked down at my stomach as it made a loud growl. I huffed as I grabbed a pickle that was falling off of the burger and ate it. Blake smiled in satisfaction.

"So what happened?" he asked. I acted like I didn't know what he was talking about.

"What do you mean?" I asked. He looked at me that told me he didn't believe me. I sighed and rolled my eyes. "My mom. My sister. Everybody."

Blake nodded. He sat there silently. I watched as he played with a french fry on my plate. He finally looked at me.

"Wanna talk about it?" he asked. I shook my head.

"I'll be okay. If not, I promise you'll be the first person to know." I said

Blake stood up. I took that as he was leaving me alone. Instead, he held his hand out for me to take it. I hesitantly did and he led the way outside and down the street. We ended up at the park where I took my morning run. He sat on a bench. I stood awkwardly in front of him. He patted the spot next him. I waited a moment before sitting next to him. Blake leaned over to me and said something.

"I'm gonna be at your first home game." he whispered. I bit my thumb as I tried not to smile. It didn't really help.

"Oh yeah?" I whispered back. I bit my lip.

"Yeah, I even bought your jersey to wear."

I looked down and blushed.

"Your cute when you blush." he said. I blushed even more as I shook my head. I don't know how he was able to do it, but he got my mind off of everything and I was able to be happy for the first time in a long time. Maybe I will be alright. Maybe I don't need my family as much as I think I do.
