*Jack Up Top*

I laid in bed that night, wondering why Daniel was looking for me. He could have anyone. Why would he want me? Well, I don't really know if he wants me. Why does he want to talk to me?

I look over at Olivia and she's still up too. "Why do you think Daniel would want me? Or want to talk to me?"

"Why wouldn't he? You're amazing, despite what you think." She says, scrolling through Instagram.

I sigh and fall asleep.

Monday

Olivia and I go to school that morning, and everybody is looking at me. I guess they all heard.

A group of girls walks past and says, "Why would he want her? He should want more girls like us." Then they laugh their obnoxious little laughs at me.

I tried not to get upset, but I had been thinking the same thing.

I go to my first class and I sit with my head down. Hoping nobody bothers me.

Someone comes over and pushes me off my chair. I look up and it's this boy who has bullied me since middle school. Miles. Even though I am a girl, he lived to make my life terrible.

"Heard you got a boyfriend." He chuckles to himself.

"He's not my boyfriend." I stand up and get back onto my chair.

He laughs. "I'm sure he wants Olivia and not you. He's probably using you to get to her. She is fine. And you're a good 3 out of 10." He walks away laughing still, and high fives a friend.

I shake my head. So what? Olivia is prettier than me. I don't care. I stopped being jealous of that years ago. I know I'm not pretty. I know I'm boring. I know people don't like me. I know.

Olivia sits in the seat next to me.

"Where were you?" I ask.

"I had to go to my locker." She says, pulling notebooks out of her book bag. She looks over at Miles and smiles.

She likes him. She doesn't know that he bullies me.

"Hey baby." He says to her.

She blushes.

I roll my eyes.

You're probably thinking I should tell her. But what good does that do?

All day everyone was talking about how Daniel was looking for me. I'm surprised nobody gave him my Instagram or something. But they wouldn't want anything great happening to me anyway. To be fair, nobody really followed my Instagram.

I sit alone for most of the day and try to ignore Daniel. Ignore the students. I want this to go away. I love Daniel. But he won't be able to deal with me.

I go home and just sit up in my room. Alone again. Nobody to bother me or try to hurt me. I scroll on Instagram. Why Don't We fans are helping Daniel look for me. It's funny how I'm right in front of them?

I look at my inbox and I have an unread message. I go to it and it's from Daniel. I look around my room confused, and I open it.

There's a message from my account saying, "Hi Daniel. I know you've been looking for me. Now you don't have to search anymore."

But I never sent that. Olivia probably did. She knows that I don't have the nerve to do it myself.

He sends back, "I can't believe this :)!"

I want to message him, but I leave it alone. A few minutes later he writes again.

"Can we meet up?"

"I can't tonight. So much homework :/"

":( I'm in town until tomorrow."

I leave him on read again.

I scrolled through the timeline again and I see people talking about Daniel's ex-girlfriend. Bailey.

"I heard he hit her."

"I heard he cheated."

"She wasn't enough. He wasn't happy."

"He's a guy, he only wanted one thing."

Can I let that affect how I feel? Is it true? Do I believe it? Daniel wouldn't he's a sweetheart.

I go to Bailey's Instagram and she's saying the same things.

"Daniel didn't love me. I caught him in his room with another girl. I didn't want things to end like that. I really loved him. I guess the feeling wasn't mutual."

What?

I guess it is true.

I shake my head and put my phone down.

There's a knock on my door.

"Who is it?"

The door opens.

"Your mother. Why is your face plastered all over the internet?"

I sigh. "It's nothing."

"Don't lie to me." She crosses her arms.

"It's about a boy."

She shakes her head. "I knew it."

"Mom, it's not what you think."

She scoffs and takes my phone. "It's over." She walks out.

What am I supposed to do now?

Wait, Daniel is still in town, I can go see him, I think I remember the hotel he's staying at.

I look around my room, then I open my window and I climb out of it.

I run to Olivia's house, and I take her bike from the yard.

I ride the bike to the hotel, but I sit outside for a minute, because I don't know what room he is staying in.

I leave the bike outside and I go inside to the pool. Luckily for me, Jack is sitting at the edge of the pool.

I quietly walk up behind him and I tap his shoulder. He jumps a little bit and then looks at me.

"Oh, hey I know you. You're the girl Daniel was looking for. Well not anymore because you messaged him. what are you doing here you never messaged him back?"

"My mom took my phone. Where is he, I want to talk to him?"

"He's packing up stairs so that we can leave tomorrow."

"What room is he in?"

He stands up and grab the towel. "He's on the 4th floor room 16."

"Thank you."

I run upstairs to the room and I knock on the door. Nobody answers for a second, but then Jonah answers the door.

"Hey, you what are you doing here? How did you find us?"

"I follow a lot of fan accounts; they always keep tabs on you. Is Daniel here? I really need to talk to him."

He nods and moves out of the way, showing me Daniel laying on the bed on his phone.

"Daniel?"

He sits up. "Ellie."
