I had moved to California to be with Marie, who was still with Jack. We both had graduated, and I had moved into an apartment with her. There wasn't much at home for me, and it was getting lonely, so I got a job out here.

I had gotten a dog, his name was Benji. He was a huskie that I had adopted also when I moved here. It was one of the nicer days, so I took him to the dog park. I let him off his leash to play with the other dogs, like I always did. I mostly watched him run around. I deleted all my social media; I didn't find it useful anymore.

I was putting his leash back on him to walk him home, when I had seen a shadow standing over me. A few shadows. I was scared to get up, but I figured that I couldn't ignore it. I stood up and turned around to see five people standing there.

"Ellie?"

"Daniel." I said, barely above a whisper.

"What are you doing here?" He questioned. He was confused.

On the other hand, Jonah pushed him out of the way to hug me. "It's so nice to see you."

I laughed and hugged him back. "Yeah, you too." Jack followed next, and then Zach. Corbyn seemed to be in one of his moods. Daniel just stared at me in shock.

Daniel asked again. "What are you doing here?"

I crossed my arms. "I came out here to see Marie."

"I think we should give them some time." Corbyn started to walk away, followed by the rest of the guys.

"So, you came out here for her, but not for me."

"It's not the same thing."

He laughs. "Tell me how it's not."

"I didn't want to go to school out here. Now, I don't mind starting my life out here, since school is over, and I have nothing back at home."

"You could've had me this whole time." He says, his tine changing from angry to sad.

"I never meant to hurt you. I wanted what was best for me."

"And that wasn't me?"

"How was I supposed to know whether or not you'd be a part of my future!?" I started getting loud with him. He looked around, and then back at me.

"I loved you. It was hard dating after you. There's nobody even close to you."

I looked away from him. "I dated a few guys back at school. Relationships were never my thing, though."

"Are you dating now?"

I shook my head. "It wasn't really part of the plan."

"Maybe it could be." He gave me a sweet look and took my hand that wasn't holding the leash. "We could hang out sometime, if you want to."

"Uh, yeah. That would be nice." We exchanged numbers, and we both went on our ways.

The next day, me and Marie were laying on the couch, watching a movie, when my phone rang. "Hello." I said.

"Look out your window." The person said. I shot Marie a confused look, then went to the window of our fourth-floor apartment. It was Daniel standing outside, with roses and a gigantic teddy bear.

"Did you tell him where we lived?"

Marie just laughed.

I rolled my eyes and went to the elevator to make my way outside. "I see you are still giving out nice gestures."

"Only for you." He smiled at me. "I never lost my feelings for you. I never thought that I would see you again, but I don't want to lose you, again. I can't. It's been five years, and I think we are ready to work on us. I know we weren't together long, just a few months, but it was a great fews months. I was just hoping that-" I cut him off and I kissed him.

"Of course, I'll be your girlfriend!" His smile got bigger. He put the bear down and hugged me.

"I love you, Ellie."

"I love you too, Daniel.
