*Jonah Up Top*

*Slight trigger warning*

Daniel stands up. "I'm surprised to see you here."

I sigh. "Look, I'm here to tell you that whatever you want with me, it's not going to work. I want nothing to do with you. I know how you treat girls and I'm not subjecting myself to that. I'm sorry."

"Whoa, what are you talking about? What do you even really know about me?" He has a confused but sad look on his face.

Jonah looks at Corbyn. "We're going to get some food. I think we're hungry."

Corbyn nods and they leave as fast as they can.

I wonder where Zach is. That's the last thing on my mind though.

I cross my arms. "You treated Bailey like trash."

He laughs a little and shakes his head. "I gave Bailey the world. Okay? She, she was the horrible one. She'd hit me and call me names. She made me feel like I was nothing. Yet I took her on vacations, I bought her clothes, I helped her family. I, I did everything. And one day," he sits on the bed, "I went over to her house with flowers to surprise her because she just won a dance contest, and she was making out with Corbyn. People are always quick to believe the girl, but nobody ever listened to my side of the story. I never laid a hand on her. I'd never hurt anyone."

I feel stupid for believing Bailey. The look of hurt on his face, no actor can fake that.

I sit next to him. "I'm sorry. I guess I judged you a little too soon. I believed some dumb gossip. I'm sorry for what you have to put up with now."

He shrugs. "I'm fine." He looks at me. "I can't believe you're here, though. What made you change your mind?"

"Listen, about that. I never sent you that first message. I don't know who did. I think my best friend did and she was trying to help me out."

He frowns a little. "It's alright. I'm glad it happened though. But, why are you here? For real."

I shrug. "My mom took my phone away. I felt the need to come tell you."

He laughs. "Oh, that's all?"

"I kind of wanted to meet you. And know why you were so desperate to find me after the meet and greet. I couldn't have made that much of an impact on you."

He takes my hand, the one with the scars. "I saw these. I want to help."

I pull my hand away. "I'm sorry, but I don't need your help. I'm fine now. You can't be everyone's superhero."

"But I know it's hard to stop. And I want to make sure it never happens again. Plus, I could be your superhero." He smiles a little.

"Go screw yourself, okay? I don't need your help, or anyone else's." I stand up and go over to the door. I reach for the handle.

"I thought you were really pretty."

I just stand there, but I put my hand down.

"I wanted to get to know you. It wasn't that I felt bad or anything. I instantly saw something in you. I know I went about it in a creepy way but, here we are."

I turn and look at him. "As long as this isn't a charity case type thing, then I gladly will be your friend."

He smiles. "It's not. I promise."

I walk over to him and I lean down to hug him.

He hugs me back.

This is even better than the first time we hugged.

Jack comes in with Zach and they look at each other and then at us.

"Are we interrupting something?" Zach asks.

We break the hug.

"Not at all. We're just finishing up." I said quickly.

"So, you're Ellie?" Jack asks, sitting on the other bed.

I nod. "Yeah, that's me."

"It's nice to finally meet you for real. Now Daniel can shut up." Zach says.

We all laugh.

"I think I'm only going to talk about her more." Daniel says. He smiles at me.

I look at my watch. "Crap, it's late. My mom probably already figured out I left." I run out of the room and back to the lobby. Great. Someone stole Olivia's bike. I put my face in my hands and try not to freak out.

A hand touches my shoulder and I jump. Daniel.

"Come on. I'll take you. We just have to leave out the back." He tells me.

I nod and follow him to a car behind the hotel.

I tell him my street name. "But leave me on the corner just in case. This'll make my home situation worse."

"Why?" He asks, staring intently at the road.

"She heard you were looking for me. Practically thought I was sleeping with you. Then took my phone."

He laughs. "Parents."

I shake my head. "My parents."

He pulls up and we sit there for a bit.

"Thanks for clarifying everything. I never really thought you were the bad guy." I said.

"At least, not that much, right?"

"Well yes. A little. Bailey was a bit persuasive."

"Yeah. She always was." He looks out the window.

I take off my seatbelt and kiss his cheek. "I hope I can talk to you soon."

He turns and smiles at me. "You know it."

I hope everyone is well, I am tired of this heat.
