"Is everything alright over there?" Daniel asks.
I nod. "Yes. Just a message from my mom." I proceed to open the message.
"He's only going to break your heart like he broke mine." Her message says.
I roll my eyes.
"Everything you said was a lie. I asked him." I reply.
"Are you sure you're okay? You look kind of mad." He knows something is wrong.
I sigh. "Bailey is in my inbox. She's trying to get in my head."
"Don't answer her, okay? You have a lot going on, you don't need her making you feel bad. Her favorite thing to do is get into people's heads."
I look at him. "What do you mean by that?"
"You know what I mean."
I roll my eyes. "I've been fine. I told you that."
"But it can happen again anytime."
"You know what Daniel? I don't want to talk to you for the rest of the ride." I look out the window.
He sighs. "I'm sorry. Really. I know it's not something you want to talk about."
I shake my head. Suddenly I was feeling like a charity case, even though he said I wasn't. And maybe it's not like that. But it's how I feel.
I guess I had fallen asleep. I woke up to Daniel tapping my arm.
"You're home."
"Thanks." I rush into my house.
My parents are sitting on the couch.
"Young lady, you are grounded for six months." My mom says.
I laugh and cross my arms. "Isn't that a little drastic?"
"You've been gone for almost two days. You are barely ever here. You're not an adult. You can't come and go as you please. Not to mention you skipped school."
"Why do you even care?" I ask.
My mom scoffs. "You're my daughter. I care about you."
"You could've fooled me." I walk upstairs and slam my door.
My dad had followed me and opened it back up. "You're definitely never leaving this house. I'm working from home now to keep an eye on you. So, don't even try. And that boyfriend of yours, you can never see him again. And I mean that." He walks out and slams my door harder than I did.
I lay on my bed and cry myself to sleep. I finally have something great in my life and they want to take it away from me. I can never be happy with them around. Sometimes I wish that I could just run away, but what good would that do?
Believe ti or not, we are halfway through the story. As always I hope you guys are swell and if you could check out my Jonah fanfic that would also be swell :)
