I thought that having a boyfriend would make things different. It does, but it doesn't. It does because it's Daniel Seavey, it doesn't because I don't feel any different than I did before. What bothers me is that Bailey won't leave me alone. She keeps telling me that Daniel is going to hurt me, and that this is a mistake. I don't know if she's telling me this so she can try to get him back, but it isn't going to work.

I went out of my way that night to ask my parents if they really paid Olivia to hang out with me.

"We never expected you to find out." My mom said, cleaning the kitchen table.

"I overheard it in the girl's bathroom the other day. But, why would you do that?" I ask, crossing my arms.

"We didn't want you going into high-school without any friends."

I laugh. "I'd rather have no friends than a fake one."

"It turns out that she really liked you."

"Lucky for you, she doesn't anymore."

"Well, we didn't have anything to do with that. She's growing up. She has a boyfriend; she's focusing on school. I heard she's a cheerleader now. How come you don't play sports dear?"

"I've never liked sports. If you paid the slightest bit of attention to me, you would know that."

"And for your information, I have a boyfriend now, so. I'm not much different than she is." I drop the conversation and go up to my room.

I'm lying in bed when I get a text from Daniel.

"I have a few days off, was thinking about staying over there for a few days (:"

"Go for it, I could use some company!"

At school the next day

Marie and I spent more time together at school after the night that Daniel asked me out. She's the only one that really gets me, mostly because she's dating Jack. We were eating lunch together that day, and I decided to speak my mind.

"What's up with Bailey?"

She was about to shove a spoonful of food into her mouth, but she put it down and looked at me. "What about her?"

"She keeps telling me Daniel is going to hurt me, what's up with that?"

She shrugs. "I don't know much about her. I was the only girl she never hung out with, I never understood why. Whatever she's saying, don't let her get to you. She's been trying to get Daniel back for months."

"I don't understand. Why break his heart and then try to win it back?"

"Because, it used to be that way. She'd hurt him, and he'd take her back. But the day he found her with Corbyn, he put a stop to that. I think she was just seeing how far she could push him."

"Corbyn flirts with me though. I don't think she did that on purpose."

"Either way, if it wasn't Corbyn, it was going to be someone else. Just ignore her."

I pick up some French fries and I change the subject. "Are you taking Jack to prom?"

"I want to. I don't know if he's for it though."

"Why wouldn't he be?"

"The attention, maybe. When you're famous it's hard to just show up and have time like a normal person."

"I want to ask Daniel."

She laughs. "We all know that he would say yes. You should do a promposal. I could help you; it would be so adorable!"

"Isn't that something the guy usually does?"

"Well, yeah. But, why not change it up? It's not his prom, it's yours."

Later that night

It was Friday night, and Daniel was on his way to the hotel to stay for a couple of days. Marie and I had just finished are promposal idea, and we headed there too. It was kind of basic, but it was all we could think of last minute.

We wait outside the hotel until the car pulls up and Daniel gets out. "Hey." He says. "Why are you holding a pizza box?"

Marie and I look at each other before opening it.

"I know this is cheesy, but will you go to prom with me?" He laughs. "Of course, I will." He comes over to me and kisses my forehead.
