The warm afternoon sun filtered through the canopy of trees, streaming through the translucent shapes and casting different coloured shadows along the forest floor. Crisp, autumn leaves crunched under your feet as you and Toby walked hand in hand through the greenery, a permanent smile plastered goofily across your face.
Toby tilted his head, craning his neck to peer down at your beaming features. Your bubbly aura and sunny smile was too contagious making a smile spread across his lips. You looked up to him, catching his warm gaze with one of your own. "What?' You asked, tilting your head in a similar way as his.
His smiled grew as he gently let your hand drop from his before slinging that same arm over your shoulder, pulling you close and making you blush. "N-nothing." He replied cheekily, eyes bright. "J-just enj-joying the v-view."
Your cheeks darkened from pink to red and you averted your gaze, suddenly embarrassed by Toby's small compliment. You placed a hand on his chest and pushed him away bashfully causing him to frown at the lack of contact.
"Oh stop it you, you're making me blush." You pressed your palm to your heated face, turning away from Toby's watchful stare. He smirked, returning his arm to its previous place and pulling you closer, nuzzling his nose into your hair with a grin.
"I-I don't m-mind s-seeing you blush. I-it's a p-pretty s-sight!" He beamed still smiling. Once again, your blush deepened causing Toby's smile to widen unimaginably.
"Woah there Toby! Calm down on all this smiling or you're gonna end up looking like Jeff!" You laughed, wrapping your arm around his waist and pulling him closer.
"H-hey! That w-was m-mean." He pouted, turning away from you with a childish frown.
"Awwww, you look so cute when you're pouting!" You cooed, poking his reddening cheek. He huffed in mock annoyance, turning his head further away from you and frowning harder. This only made your laughter intensify causing him to turn even further away.
"C'mon Toby, don't be like that!" You whined, clinging to his arm. He stayed resilient, ignoring your please for attention no matter how hard it was. "Tobbbyyyy! Pay attention to me!" He ignored you.
"Toby!" Again, ignored.
"Tooobbbbyyyyy!" Ignored.
"Oh my god...TOBY!" In one swift motion, Toby swivelled and scooped you into his arms, swinging you around in circles as you giggled like a toddler on Christmas morning. After a few moments, both of you began to grow dizzy. As Toby set you down, you wobbled, keeping his arms wrapped around your waist for support on both ends.
Toby held you there, breathing uneven and hair slightly tousled as he gazed into your cheerful, (e/c) eyes. He smiled gently, leaning down to place a soft kiss on your head and then on both of your flushed cheeks.
Taking your hand carefully in his, he intertwined your fingers, pulling you along at a steady pace. "I can't believe Slenderman let us go into town to to the food run. It feels like ages since I last saw civilisation!" You squealed excitedly.
"Mhm, p-probably b-because it ha-as been a-ages." Toby stated, giving your hand a loving squeeze. You hummed back in agreement, picking up your pace to walk by his side as you tried hard to match his brisk strides.
"Will you slow down? You're walking way too fast." Toby chuckled lowly, slowing his pace ever so slightly.
"I-It's n-not me thats t-the p-problem...you're l-legs a-are just s-super short." He stuttered, smiling to himself. Now it was your turn to pout, clearly unhappy with his teasing about your height. "Awwwww, y-you look s-so c-cute when you're p-pouting!" He mimicked your words from early causing you to grumble profanities under your breath.
