Your POV

It was late at night. The sky was a deep, calming shade of midnight blue and stars decorated the velvet sky. Streaks of moonlight peaked through your curtains and dimly lit the room, illuminating your (e/c) eyes that were wide awake. You were layed in your bed in the darkness staring up at you ceiling, searching for a way to make yourself fall asleep. You turned your head and glanced at the clock that was on your bedside table. It was half four in the morning and the sun would surely be coming up soon. You reverted your gaze back to the dark ceiling and began to think. The events of the current day played over and over again in your head as the words you said to Toby clawed away at your mind. "STAY AWAY FROM ME YOU MONSTER!" You flinched at the reminder of those words and buried your face in your pillow, the familiar scent calmed you down a little. Tired and fed up, you inhaled and exhaled deeply before letting your heavy eyelids close in an attempt to get some sleep. Questions shot through your head as you began to drift off to sleep. Will Toby still be my friend? What will happen with Trevor? Will he ever forgive me? You decided to push all of the questions away and drift off into a dreamless sleep.

The feeling of someone shaking you woke you from your restless slumber. You didn't even bother to open your eyes, instead you threw the bed covers over your head and attempted to go back to sleep. "(Y/n)... it's time to wake up now." The voice softly called out to you from the other side of your bed covers. You pulled back the soft quilt from your eyes and peaked one eye lid open to see who had woken you up. Your mother was knelt down next to the bed looking at you with worried eyes and a sad smile. "C'mon (y/n) it's half eleven. I let you sleep in for a while but it's time to get up now. Get dressed and come downstairs me and your father need to talk to you." She calmly said before kissing your forehead and getting up to walk to your door. Before she closed the door she turned back to you and gave you a small smile, then walked downstairs. You sighed and threw the covers off of your bed shivering slightly as the cold hit you. You swung your legs over the side of the bed and stood up to open your curtains. The sun was high in the sky and light immediately streamed into your dim room. You lifted a hand to cover your dull (e/c) eyes to shield them until they adjusted to the light. With one quick glance at the surroundings outside, you went to do your daily routine.

As expected, when you reached the bathroom mirror you saw dark circles around your eyes from the lack of sleep. To be honest you looked worst than a zombie. Your skin was paler than its usual (s/c) color and your hair looked like a birds nest. There were still pieces of twigs and blades of grass stuck in parts of your hair from the following day. You shook your head slightly to try and clear your head of the thoughts of yesterday and got to work to make your face look decent. You took a nice, warm shower to calm your nerves and fully wash your hair to rid it of any pieces of nature. After the shower, you went back to your room and picked out your outfit. You didn't plan on going outside today so you just wore your favourite hoodie and a pair of leggings. You tied your (h/c) hair up in a messy bun and headed downstairs to see what your parents wanted to speak to you about. When you got downstairs you saw that your mum hadn't made any breakfast so you put two slices of bread in the toaster and waited patiently for them to be done. You caught a glimpse of movement in the corner of your eye and saw that both of your parents were sat at the table looking at you expectingly. You gave them a confused look before going over to sit at the table.

The tension was unbearable. You and your parents were seated at the table not saying a word to each other. You had noticed that your parents had been stealing glances at you and each other, but they hadn't said a word. "This is ridiculous... if you both have something to say to me then just say it." You mumbled with your eyes cast down. You really weren't in the mood for anything today and just wanted to stay in your room. Your parents looked slightly surprised at your words and sighed in unison. Your mothers eyes were cast to the ground as your dad cleared his throat. "We received some news earlyier this morning (y/n)," your father said in a stern voice. He very rarely spoke in this tone so it peaked your interest. You adjusted your gaze so it was now on his (e/c) eyes. "Toby, Lyra and Connie were in a car crash yesterday and Lyra..." he trailed off at the end of the sentence as a shadow cast over his eyes.

Your eyes widened in horror at his words as your mouth hung slightly open. You quickly sprung to your feet ,knocking your chair over in the process, and smacked your hands against the table. Your parents jumped at your sudden actions as a pitiful expression washed over both of their faces. "YOUR LYING!" You shouted slamming your hands against the table once again. "(Y/n) calm down!" Your mother snapped at you. You sent her an ungodly death glare and kept it on her whilst waiting for her to continue. "Toby's still alive... he's in the hospital no-" "LET ME SEE HIM!" You shouted, cutting her off in the process. "You can't at the moment (y/n). The doctors are still working on him as we speak." Your father said whilst reassuringly placing his hand on yours. You smacked his hand away and scowled, disgusted at his actions. "(Y/N)! WHAT ON EARTH DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING!" your mother shouted at you with and angry tone to her usually soft voice. You stumbled back a few steps, slightly startled at her aggressiveness. Your fists clenched at your sides and your teeth ground against each other so hard you could almost hear it. "I HATE BOTH OF YOU!" You screamed, your voice cracking slightly as tears threatened to spill from your eyes. With one swift turn, you darted out of the door and towards the only place that could possibly calm you down. The woods.

The wind blew strands of (h/c) hair into your face and behind you as the clearing that you and Toby were in before came to view. Your running turned into a slow walk as you stumbled along the path to the park were the terrible events occurred. Your feet dragged along the dirt and grass as you grew nearer and nearer to the place were your friendship died. Memories of when you two were little flashed before your eyes as you allowed tears to silently fall down your (s/c) cheeks and fall to the floor. The sky was now a murky grey color as rain gathered within the clouds and threatened to fall from the sky at any moment. You stood still remembering the last words you had said to your best friend. STAY AWAY FROM ME YOU MONSTER. Your knees began to buckle as you fell to the floor allowing the ground to come in contact with your legs. By this point there was no point in holding back the way you felt. Loud and violent sobs escaped your mouth as tears cascaded from your glossy (e/c) eyes and onto the soft green grass. You sank further to the floor and raised your hands to cradle your face in attempts to muffle your own sobs and stop the flow of tears that ran down your face. Small droplets of rains began to fall around you, blending your tears with theirs. In that moment, it seemed to you like the whole world was crying. You turned your head up to the sky and began to scream as loud as you could. "WHY?! WHHHYYY?! WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?!" You screamed up to the sky as rain drops fell against your cold skin and the air became chilly. Your gaze dropped back down to meet the floor as you thought of your only friend. You were truly devastated.
