Cyrus' POV
Yay! Aren't you lucky, finally Cyrus speaks. He threatened to delete the book when I wasn't looking if I didn't. On with the chapter!
°°°°°°°°°
I woke up and found myself asleep on a purplish couch in an unknown apartment room. I was shocked to find myself half naked, bandaged and most of all, with a sleeping Keia right next to me.Memories of yesterday flooded back in. The last thing I can remember is Keia viciously and accidentally stabbing me. I touched my shoulder and it didn't hurt as much as it did yesterday. She really took the effort to clean me up.
I felt like putting my arm over her waist and falling back to sleep, but something was keeping me from resting. I didn't have a clue what was fighting me.
So I carefully slipped off the couch. My neck was in need of a good stretch. My whole body was so stiff. I walked around what must have been Keia's apartment. It was all so clean and tidy. Like she had someone to come and check on her. All except the carpet in the living room which had bandages and pain killers and medicine loose on it next to a first aid kit.
I went to her kitchen and looked in the fridge. My left arm was too out of commission so I used my right arm to make waffles out of the ingredients she had. After I made like seven for each of us, I poured some honey and strawberries on for effect.
I went back to her and placed her plate on the little stool next to her. I thought of the coolest way to wake her up. And decided to place a soft kiss on her lips.
Her eyes fluttered open and she yawned. Clearly not seeing me clearly without her glasses. I realised that since she seemed like she lived alone, it must have been too expensive to replace both the frame and the lens.
She furrowed her eyebrows in concentration and wrinkled her nose in confusion as her vision cleared up. She looked so cute.
Then she shrieked. And that startled me.
"What are you doing up?" she said.
"I wanted to make you something to eat, " I said in defence. In the most sexy voice I could come up with.
"Cyrus, you're injured. And it's all my fault. If anyone should be making you anything to eat, it's me," she said.
"Not true." I managed to come up with.
"What part?" She replied. "Last time I checked, if I had just stood up to Selena, none of this would have happened."
" You're right, " I said.
"Well that's blunt."
" If you had stood your ground I wouldn't have searched for you everywhere, only to find you in an alley in trouble. I wouldn't have gotten hurt and I wouldn't be in your apartment right now. But, there's a good side. You learnt your lesson about not being near alleys, you saved those two guys, and you got to kiss me. "
She blushed hard at the last statement. It made me smile.
"Thank you," she said after a pause.
"For what?" I was still pretty dizzy on yesterday's events.
"For saving me, for finding and looking for me, for,for-" her eyes started watering. I pulled her into a one armed hug as she rested her head on my chest, silent tears falling.
"-risking it all just to save me."
Then it clicked.
The thing that was eating me inside. I killed a man.
"I know it sounds awful, Cyrus. But you have to let it go," she said, making me realise I said that out loud.
"But-but I ended a life. S-s-something that is more evil than what he was about to do to you," my voice has never wobbled so much since I was a little kid. The guilt inside hadn't gone away. It was just replaced.
"I'm a menace to society, " I heard myself whisper.
She let go of me, and cupped my face in both hands. She looked deep into my eyes, at the same time, letting me into her dark night in her eyes. Her hurt eye was looking better.
"You listen to me, Cyrus Jesse Templeton. You are not a monster. You are a good person who had to make a choice. You can't let the villain in you make you think it was evil that drove you to do what you've done. It was love. And as much as it will hurt to remember what it took to save me. You have to ask yourself one thing. Was it worth it?"
Her words felt like honey slipping through the cracks of guilt that have torn my heart into a million pieces. It wasn't gluing it back together but it was making it look more beautiful, more healed, more delicious.
Her forehead was against mine. And we looked into each others eyes. I was no longer in control of my lips. I leaned in closer.
And then...
They were left hanging.

And I don't think I will be anytime soon.
*one last diabolical laugh*
*shields herself from rotten tomatoes*
Keia: WHAT is wrong with you?!
Cyrus: Why did she leave me like that? What kind of mom are you? And you call yourself a good writer?
Mallie: Hey, you wanted your own chapter, you got one. This is all part of the drama. Any good writer could see that.Well, remember to VOTE if you like elevators, Ferraris or honey coated waffles. Votes in Wattpad are like the little falling stars that I get to keep that make me feel accomplished and motivated to keep this book alive.
