Cyrus ' POV
The rest of the day was awesome. I took her to the mall near the beach. There we went into a dozen shops which she all hated. I had never met a girl who hated dresses so much.
"Why you gotta where black all the time? You look like a hiding celebrity." I said as I waited for her to come out of the changing room.
"Why you always wearing shades all the time? You look like a hiding celebrity." She said.
"Because I am a hiding celebrity. If people knew I was here, there would be a stampede."
" Yeah, whatever hotshot. "
"Come out already," I said.
"Do I have to? I hate dresses."
" Why? "
"Because Mr Cyrus the Shark, I'm not as beautiful as I wish I was."
"I'll be the judge of that."
" Well don't go Simon Cowell on me, " she replied.
"Who?"
Then, she walked out. I forced her to try on a dress with a black skirt and crop top inside with lace between covering her exposed stomach and forming long sleeves at the top. She looked gorgeous, with a small waist and perfect figure for a model.
She was trying to explain who Simon Cowell was, but I wasn't paying attention. She realised I was staring at her and started rubbing her arm, insecurely.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
" Because you're beautiful. "
"Did you seriously just make a 'The Fault In Our Stars' reference?"
"No, Keia. Everything I say is original when I'm around you."
She scoffed. "How is that pick up line working out for you?"
And with that she was back in the changing room, getting the dress off.
Suddenly, the music in the store changed to Bruno Mars' Just the Way You Are. I reached into the changing room she was in an luckily, she hadn't started changing yet. Before she could push me away, I pulled her out and did the most embarrassing thing I could do to her.
No, not propose.
I started singing along.
'Cause when you smile,
The whole world stops and stares for a while,
'Cause girl you're amazing
Just the Way You are .I happened to have a good singing voice. I could sing like almost any male singer nowadays. I made her sit on a stool will I sang to her. Making her blush in embarrassment.
When the song finally ended, she applauded me.
"You didn't know I could sing, did you?"
" No, I didn't, but you just sang like-"
"The singer himself, a little talent of mine."
Later I paid for the dress.when she wasn't looking and hid it in her bag. After that whole shopping spree, the only thing she let me buy her was a leather jacket like mine.
We went for ice cream and burgers by the beach and at sunset, I drove her home.
Outside her apartment, she hugged me goodbye.
"You know, I could stay another night," I suggested.
" No way, sir. Michael needs his responsible older brother tonight. Besides, I have to study for my Math test on Monday. "
It made me remember the same math test was in store.
"Yeah me too."
" I had an awesome time, Cyrus, regardless of my anxiety attack. "
"I'm glad."
"Oh and Cy," she said. " Thank you for caring about me. When no else does. "
"Does that mean you're not going to commit sui-"
And before I could finish she ran off. Like the Angel she was.
I just hoped my Angel wouldn't fall.
