Keia's POV
I hadn't gone to work in the last two months and somehow, my awful boss hadn't replaced me.
The Templeton Hotel was like every other high class, seven star hotel nowadays. It rose to fourteen floors and each one of those floors had sections that needed to be cleaned six times a day. Honestly, I felt like I didn't look for this job, it looked for me.
This was my first day there since I woke up.
Trevor Kristen was the guy in charge of the cleaners. We met before the meeting we have in the afternoon everyday. He was a tall, slender man who thought himself highly. All the maids thought he was a major arse but he seemed to love making me suffer the most.
One thing I didn't like about working in this hotel was that all the female employee uniforms were purposely short. The waitress uniforms consisted of a white long sleeved blouse with a dark blue bowtie, and a dark blue pleated skirt. Mine only went mid thigh and it really bothered me because I couldn't go a day working at the beachside restaurant without getting wolf whistled. I always thought the guys were making fun of me but somehow, the way Cyrus looks at me had started to make me think I may actually be beautiful after all.I
Trevor stopped me before I entered the door of the meeting room. I was in my maids' uniform: a light blue, short sleeved dress with buttons going all the way down, the dress barely reached my knees.
"You are not supposed to be here today." He deadpaned. I was shocked, and hoped it didn't mean he was firing me.
"I-I'm not?"
" Not ever again as a matter of fact, " he looked down at his clipboard and back at me with the smirk I've seen him use when he fired many, many maids before.
He was loving the fear in my eyes. But lost interest soon enough and sighed, " You're being promoted to full time waitress. The kitchens are low on them. "
My fear turned to relief. I thought if I lost both my jobs I may have had to reconsider Cyrus' proposal. Only, until I found another job.
So I changed into my waitress uniform and went to the main kitchen on the third floor. They were holding their staff meeting and I blended in. I came to notice the head supervisor, an old lady in black and white floral, was pacing back and forth in front of five young girls.
"Where IS THE SIXTH NEW WAITRESS!" She yelled. I realised it was me so I stepped forward hesitantly. The silence that followed made the sound of my mandatory black heels on the tiles seen loud.
"I'm here," I said in my hushed voice.
"I see, so you will have to work room service as a punishment for your tardiness. "
And just like that, I was soon pushing a trolley with fifteen different orders for fifteen different rooms. The room number and floor was written on a card and tied to each lid so I wouldn't mix them up. Turns out room service was a lot more stressful than I thought it would be. You have to hurry up so they don't call back and complain. But some people took so long to answer the door you were bond to get in trouble with the next customer.
Finally, it was six thirty and I had my last delivery to be sent to the Owner's Suite. Although, I wasn't very happy to soon rub shoulders with Cyrus' dad.
When I got to the door on the fourteen floor, I stopped outside when I heard Cyrus' voice from inside. Near the door was a one way window which was supposed to be look like a mirror from the outside but if I looked really closely, I could see inside.
The room had a pair of cream leather sofas, a good coffee table and a huge TV on the bricks that made up the chimney for the fireplace. There were three people in the room. One of which I could tell was Cyrus. There was another man with a deeper voice and darker complexion who I assumed was Mr. Templeton. Then there was a young woman in a dark green, long silky dress fit as evening wear. She had long blonde hair and was holding Cyrus' hand as they sat so close together on the opposite sofa.
