For the fifth time, Whiplash looked questioningly from the Bulkhead back to the still blank painting canvas. Loosely in his hand sat a paint covered mop, waiting to be used.
I chuckle and roll my eyes focusing back to my painting. My eyes flicker back up to Bulkhead as he turns, letting me have a glimpse of that cool sign that all the bots seemed to have, well, all except Whiplash anyways. It was red and very square like, a pair of black eyes and a chin that stood out really well.
It was similar to the one that Whiplash scratched at ever so often. His was a light purple, instead of the rounded part at the top, it was two points. Its eyes were slightly angry looking, and the chin came to sharp point.
My thoughts carried me away, making me all but aware of the portrait I was making. A slight nudge to my rib made me jump, my head snapping down to meet a pink paint covered Thornly, looking at me as if I had lost it. "Are you okay Rache'? You were fazing out, and started painting really fast." She said, pointing to my canvas.
I look back up and gasp. Half was the purple sign, and the other half was the red sign. It looked pretty cool, but I was still creeped out by the words under it. I didn't understand it, but it still freaked me out that I had done that while I had fazed out.
' Age old war'
It confused me to no end, but it wasn't anything that I knew about. So with a simple shrug, I move the picture away. Looking up to my large black and red striped friend, he met my gaze. He gave me a pleading look, stepping aside to show off his still blank canvas. A small smile creases across my face.
"It's okay Whip, maybe we can let you try something else, right Bulkhead?" I ask aloud, catching the green robots attention. He sighs and nods. "Yeah alright. Bumblebee's in the main room if you wanna hang with him." He said sadly.
A pang of sadness hit me hard, and I gently place a hand on the large foot. He looks down. Large, light blue eyes meet my light blue ones. "Whiplash is new to this Bulk, he doesn't understand just yet." A small hand pushes me to the side gently, catching both our attentions.
Thornly stood where I was just a moment ago, holding up a medium sized canvas to Bulkhead.
His features brightened as he gingerly picked it up. Thornly giggled and jumped happily, running back and hugging me around my hips, nearly crushing my pelvic. "He likes it! He likes it Rachel!" She squealed into my stomach, the vibrations making me giggle.
"W-what did he like so much Thornly?" I ask in between chuckles, pushing her off a bit so she could speak.
"I made him a picture! Now c'mon, I wanna go play with BB!" She nearly screamed, dragging me out of the room before I had a chance to say anything. "W-wait, who's BB?" I ask bluntly. She gives me a look over her shoulder that just screamed 'Seriously?' "Bumblebee, duh! I wanna play video games!"
I laugh and roll my eyes, mentally scolding myself for not knowing she would use her little nicknames she gave everyone.
She quickly drags me into the main 'living' area. It had a large cement couch and cement table that say in front of a HUGE platinum screen TV. Street signs littered the walls, all from different avenues and boulevards. Bumblebee say on the couch, a large video game controller in his hand, staring daggers at the TV.
"Couldn't you two have waited for me?" A voice asks from behind us, a black hand swooping down and scooping us up and onto Whiplash's shoulder. Bumblebee finally turned and looked at us, a smile forming on his face.
"Hey, you guys want to play too?" He asked, but I could just hear the faintest bit of challenge in his voice. I cock an eyebrow and smile. I nod, accepting the challenge. Whiplash though seemed hesitant. It didn't surprise me. He was apparently different from them, he used to be the bad guy.
He didn't know how to act around kindness apparently, but I felt like that's why he wanted us close to him. He didn't want to lose the feeling of love that Thornly, him and I managed to share. Even though we had only met a few days ago, we had made an unbreakable bond, feelings of mutual trust between us all.
He walked over and sat next to Bee, grabbing the extra controller off the table.
I started going over the basics of the game, which was a simple 'mortal kombat' style game. After about five loses, Whiplash finally got the hang of it.
"Yeah!" Whiplash cheered, hitting the last button to finish off Bumblebee's character. Bumblebee groaned loudly, standing up and throwing his arms up in the air. "That wasn't fair! you had her helping you!" He complained, pointing to me. I smile and shrug, earning a laugh from Whiplash.
"Eh, you got it or you don't, Bee." I chuckle. A laugh bursts out from behind us, and I look down. Sari stood at the yellow bots foot, laughing until she was leaned against it. Bumblebee moped, taking an exaggerated seat on the couch. "I should'a won that, I had the most experience!" he whined.
Whiplash chuckled, standing up and holding his hand down to bumblebee. "Oh, C'mon. It was just first time luck. You'll probably get me next time."
Bumblebee rolled his eyes, but smiled. Taking the red fingered glove he stood, giving Whiplash's arm a good shake. Whiplash was tall compared to Bumblebee. "I'll get you next time, Whip." Whiplash smirked as his nickname was called. The little yellow bot started running towards the door.
"Race ya to the edge of town!" He called after him, transforming and revving his engine. Whiplash, Thornly and I shared a look. Whiplash set us down and transformed as well, opening his door for us. Sari had joined Bumblebee, the little red pony tails bobbing as she cheered.
"Three..." Whip started.
"Two..." Bee continued.
"ONE!" They both called, each taking off quickly down the cement.
