Lilliana's POV

Lance told me the details of what happened, that is, what he knew. No one but the attacker and I knew the full details. Except, I didn't remember what happened.

"Lana, I can call you that right?" I smiled and nodded. I liked it, it was a mix of Lily and Lilliana. "Anyways, do you happen to know anyone named Sebastian Carter? We found his blood at the scene."

"The name sounds familiar, but I don't quite remember where from." For some reason, I thought of James.

Yes he was mad at me for not-

My head starting hurting tremendously and I became dizzy.

"Lana?" I was in a daze.

James... he was at my house. We were... arguing. What else happened? Ugh! I can't grab it, it's there but I can't get it.

"Did you remember something?" Should I tell him? Would he believe me? Let's keep it a secret for now, it's probably nothing.

"Not much. I just saw a man. I don't know what he looked like though." I had to lie. "My head hurts and I'm dizzy though." His eyes widened.

"I'll go get the doctor. Stay put."

A few minutes later he returned with a plump man, I recognized him.

"Dr. Tockley!?" I worked with him a couple times in the past.

"Hey. Mr. Moretti told me you were feeling dizzy and had a headache. I'm sure you know, but these can be common side effects of a concussion. In most cases, your symptoms will go away in a few days. If you are still having these symptoms, do tell us."

"Doctor, why can't I remember anything that happened to me?" Just because I was a doctor didn't mean I remembered everything at this exact moment.

"Sometimes after a traumatic incident, your mind will close those memories off. Your mind chooses to not remember them. I would not try to regain those memories deliberately.  Your brain closed it off for a reason, you might remember it naturally, but do not force it. We will keep you here a few more days to make sure your symptoms don't reoccur. You should get some rest."

"Thank you Dr. Tockley."

He left Lance and I alone. I couldn't help but wonder how bad the attack was or why I remembered James and I arguing.

James wouldn't have anything to do with this... would he?

"Don't think about it. I know you are. The doctor literally just said don't think about the incident."

"I can't help it, I'm curious."

"Curiosity killed the cat." It was James.

"James!" I was so happy to see him. I'd been through so much and it was nice to see an old friend.

"Hey Lily, and you are?" He looked at Lance.

"Ah, Lance Moretti. Pleasure to meet you." He stuck his hand out to give James a handshake but James kept his arms at his sides.

My head started hurting a little. I kept it a secret.

"Well I will leave the two of you to talk. I should go pick Aiden up from school." He walked out the door.

James looked at me questioningly. For some reason I began to sweat.

     Why am I scared?
