Lilliana's POV

After a few more days, I was finally able to make the trip to the Russos. In the mean time Lance and I went to the police department to tell them what I had remembered.

True to his word, Lance allowed me to go pay Coles parents a visit. I had to take his driver though. Lance said he had to take care of some things while I was away so Oliver would be watching Aiden. We left around two pm.

"I have to say miss, I think Mr. Moretti is very fond of you."

"I'm not to sure about that Zach, and please, call me Lilliana." The formalities were getting old.

"All I know, is that Mr. Moretti hasn't been this happy in a while. It's not that he was ill tempered before, he just didn't have... the light he does now."

     "It's probably just Aiden."

     "Whatever you say Lilliana."

The rest of the car ride was silent. When we pulled into the Russos driveway, it felt like my stomach was flipping inside of me. I took a deep breath and got out of the car.

"You can stay here. I shouldn't be too long." He raised an eyebrow.

"Okay. If you go in, text me if there any problems." I nodded and walked up to the door.

     You can do this Lily.

Before I could even knock, the door swung open.

"Go away Lilliana. I don't want to hear anything you have to say." Mrs. Russo started to shut the door. I put my foot in the way in time.

"I know you hate me, but just for five minutes, please listen." She crossed her arms.

"Just because you were attacked, doesn't mean you will get my pity. Go Away!"

"I'm not here for that," I yanked the ring off my neck. "This isn't mine. Quite frankly, I don't think you care to hear why I'm giving it back, but take it." She stared at it, then looked at me. She sighed heavily.

"Come in. It's chilly out anyways." She motioned for me to enter.

     I wasn't expecting that.

We sat across from each other at the dinner table.

"Why are you giving it back? It's yours, not ours."

"I loved Cole very much, I still do and always will. However, I can't hold onto him forever. Cole was my best friend and my first love. I need to let him go but I can't if I still have this ring. It's like a weight that keeps reminding me of what I can't have. I don't want to live my life clinging on to someone who is gone. Cole wouldn't have wanted that either. So, I wanted to give it back to you. What you do with it is up to you, but I can't keep it."

"It's not tying you down to anything. You are with James-

"Don't- don't say his name. I never was with him and I never will be." Just hearing his name made my blood boil.

"What? Did you two have a fall out?" If she is going to ever drop it, I need to tell her.

"You know I was attacked right?"

"How could I not, it was all over the news. They wouldn't say who did it though."

"James did. He apparently had always liked me. When I wasn't answering his phone calls and got mad at him, he attacked me. I'm slowly remembering bits and pieces of what happened. He's going to jail, he should be taken in soon." She covered her mouth with her hand.
