Most women want to wake up to the love of their life next to them. Some want to wake up to the smell of breakfast, or sweet kisses. Well I, Lilliana Eyler, woke up to the smell of something burning.
What on earth? I thought
I hastily put my robe on and rushed to where the smell is coming from.
"CRAP, CRAP, CRAP! How the hell does she make these!?" Poor Cole exclaimed.
"Cole, what on EARTH are you doing in my kitchen?" Cole was supposed to be at his parents place, what is he doing in my kitchen?
"BABE! Help! I-I tried to make you breakfast in bed... but I burnt it."
I couldn't help but laugh. Cole knew nothing about cooking, yet here he was, in my kitchen attempting to make me breakfast.
"Cole, you are literally the cutest boyfriend ever." I walked over to him and wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him in for a kiss.
"Mmmm," he pulled away, putting his forehead against mine "if the food wasn't still burning I would continue. However, I think we may have the fire department at your door if we don't fix this." He said, nudging his head in the direction of the still burning pancakes. I sighed.
"Seriously Cole, how do you burn pancakes?"
He shrugged.
"High heat probably."
"OH MY GOD COLE! You never cook pancakes on high heat! This is why I am the cook!"
I couldn't help but laugh. Only a moron would cook pancakes on high heat. I couldn't help but smile at the thought that the giant moron next to me was mine.
Cole and I met in middle school. We were best friends, inseparable. It was only after we grew up we realized we wanted to be more than friends. We started dating when I turned 20, he was 21 at the time. I know Cole is the one for me, and I want every day to be like this. Maybe not the burnt pancakes, but his kisses, arms around me, I want it all. Every day.
Cole is devastatingly handsome. His tall and masculine frame made every girl throw themselves at him. He always refused them though. Cole is what most girls would describe as perfect. Looks wise anyways, he obviously couldn't cook.
I didn't care though. Out of all the girls he could pick, he picked me. Lilliana Eyler. I had average looks. I wasn't anything special. Compared to Cole, I was so plain. What did he see in me anyways?
I sighed, I knew Cole loved me. So why do I doubt myself? I threw the burnt pancakes in the trash and set the pan in the sink.
"Next time babe, wake me up. Like seriously, my kitchen is a mess." There was pancake mix all over the granite counters, the stove and even the floor. How did he pull that off?
"Hey, I tried. Next time I'll watch a few videos before hand." He chuckled.
I rolled my eyes. Once I finished cleaning the mess up, grabbed a pan, and started on making a new batch of mix. I wanted to make him pancakes from scratch. I scurried around the kitchen grabbing all the ingredients and placing them on the counter.
Cole always found it fascinating how I was able to cook so well. I looked up to say something sarcastic, but something was off. His seemed deep in thought, his eyes seemed to be staring off into space, almost like they were glass.
"Cole?" He jumped at the sound of his name.
"Yeah babe?"
"You alright?" He sighed. He was fine just minutes ago? Did I miss something?
"Yeah, I- well you see- ugghhhh." He buried his face into his hands. I walked over to him and gently pulled his hands away from his face, looking directly into his emerald eyes.
"What's wrong?" Even I could hear the pout on my voice. He smiled.
"It's nothing to worry about right now love." He wrapped my arms around his waist and pulled me into a hug.
