I'll Remember

Twentieth Week

It was the last day of our practice for our Moving Up. Iritadong iritado ako sayo dahil hindi ka mapirmi sa kina-uupuan mo. Nasa unahan ang lahat ng nasa honor roll. And you kept bothering us because you wanted to sit beside me.

Which clearly can't happen because we had designated seats. Pinagigitnaan tayo ng walang pakialam na Lelouch. Ilang beses mo na akong kinalabit para makuha ang atensyon ko. I swear, Leouch sighed numerous time that day but he remained silent. Nakakabilib din dahil kahit anong pangungulit mo sa kanya ay nanatili siyang kalmado at parang walang naririnig.

Lelouch was assigned to lead the opening prayer so you took advantage of him being on stage so you could annoy me. Inaalok mo pa ako ng chocolates na magdamag sigurong nasa bulsa mo kaya medyo tunaw na.

Hindi kita pinansin kahit na nakalahad ang kamay mo sa akin. I tried to keep my attention at the stage but you were so persistent.

"Come on, it's m&m's! Baka pagdating ni Lelouch, humingi pa siya!" Pagpipilit mo pa. "We can't let him see this."

Parang nag-iinit ang ulo ko sa mga sinasabi mo. I don't even know if I should be irritated because you're so makulit or I should pinch your cheeks because you look innocent and cute while offering me your damned chocolates.

Kinuha ko ang pack ng m&m's sa kamay mo para matigil ka na. Your smile grew, hindi ko napigilang umirap.

Everything went smoothly during the practice. Isa ako sa mga magbibigay ng speech. I was kinda nervous because crowds are never my thing. Being on stage makes me feel nauseous. It's a miracle I survived the campaign period before. Now, I gained a little confidence. Pero sa tingin ko ay hindi talaga maiiwasang kabahan.

I'm not like you who's accustomed to the spotlight. You made everything look easy that's why people are drawn to you. You can catch everyone's attention. You would never bore them. Kahit nga ata huminga ka lang ay matutuwa na sila.

And you really never failed to make a scene! I would never forget the stunt you pulled on our Moving Up Ceremony.

We all wear Princeton's school uniform for Senior High School. It represents the new beginning of our journey. Pero parang sayang din kasi hindi naman lahat mananatili sa Princeton.

The three of us were the last ones to walk down the procession because we received the highest honors. Napapailing na lang kami ni Lelouch nang kumaway kaway ka pa habang naglalakad. You were much more behaved at our practice than the actual ceremony!

Our parents were seated next to each other. My father can't make it and I don't really care. It's better for him not to come anyway. Alagaan niya na lang ang bago niyang asawa, tutal magkakaanak na rin naman siyang bago. Kasama ni Mommy si Giannis. My cousin is my photographer for that day. Feeling ko nga napilitan lang siya eh but he promised to be there so I was thrilled.

I also noticed that you look hostile with my cousin. It's the first time you met pero parang mortal na magkaaway agad kayo.

Naunang banggitin ang mga pangalan ng section ko.

I clapped hard for Magui. The boys cheered for her too. Her bright smile touched everyone like a ray of sun.

When my name was called out, rinig na rinig ko ang sigawan nila Heaven at Ravi sa likod. It's not allowed to shout but then they did it anyway.

"Y'all clap your hands for our Prez!" Si Heaven.

"Highest honors hoot hoot!" Ani Ravi.

Feeling ko mahihimatay ako nang pati ikaw ay nakisali. I smiled apologetically to my adviser and to the headmaster of the school when I received the certificate.
