it's the next morning and we're going to the hospital for a meeting with the doctors

i'm nervous what they're going to say but i have hopes that it's nothing bad

we get to the hospital and i go to his room as Jonah speaks to the doctor

i walk in the room and he's sleeping, i sit on his bed and kiss his forehead

"good morning honey"

"hi i'm tired"

"i know but we have a meeting with your doctor"

"am i going to have to stay here"

"possibly but it's better for you. they'll give you the best attention and what you need. if it's optional i do think we should do it, Mason is growing and his teeth are coming in and i don't think grandma can take control of that"

"that would be cool.. if i could have my phone"

"we'll see what they say. how did you sleep?"

"not that good i kept having this bad dream"

"what was it about"

"just monsters attacking me and i was calling out for help but no one was coming"

"aw well let's tell the doctor about that okay maybe there's a reason why"

"mhm."

the doctor comes in the room and jonah walks over to me

"okay so we're going to talk about where we go from here." the doctor says turning towards me and jonah

"so last night once you left we talked to Caleb for a little bit just about the situation and how he felt and it was very emotional as it was the first few hours. so we understood that and left for a little bit. we came back an hour later and talked once he was calm and learned a few things"

"can you not tell them please" Caleb says and we look at him

"Caleb they're very important"

"what did he say?" jonah asks

"He told us that he's felt as if you guys, specifically you Mr. Marais aren't proud of him and you favor his brother more. we talked about why he felt this way and he didn't feel like telling us more which is totally okay"

"Caleb i'm super proud of you. i-i didn't know you felt that way i'm so sorry"

"he also told us that once his brother came he felt alone and that girl was the only thing that made him happy. there's more things we talked about but we do think he has some sort of depression. and because of the situation that happened we want to keep him here so he doesn't try what he did again. is that okay with you guys"

"of course anything that will help him. he just wanted to know if he'll have his phone? which if we have the choice i want him to be able to have it so i can talk to him" i mention

"yes i was going to get to that. we have a program here for kids with pasts with depression and attempts and it's really amazing. they have their own floor, they can talk to each other, every night there's a meeting and a lot more we can discuss later. and part of it is in fact letting them have their devices just with the things that make them upset removed. for example we would suggest removing and blocking that girl, and deleting any social media."

"Caleb is that something you would like"
