After a week of ignoring Mikah I finally picked up the phone. He asked if me and Cam can meet him at Perry's Steakhouse. If it wasn't for Cam I wouldn't have came.
We walked in and found Mikah sitting alone. He looked at us and had the audacity to smile. I rolled my eyes and looked at the menu.
"You still mad at me?" He asked
"What did you call us here for?" I asked
"Because I want you to meet someone."
"I know it's not that heffa." I said
"She not a heffa and stop saying that. You got Mike saying it." He said
"So she is who you want us to meet?"
"Yeah but listen she's really respectful and she really wanna meet y'all." He said
"I don't wanna meet her. Did she even meet Jamila yet?"
"Jamila not answering my calls and Mike not either. If I show y'all that she really is a nice girl then you can tell Jamila the same."
"You gotta be stupid." I said
"Just do it for me." He said then looked behind us. I turned and saw a girl coming towards us. She had a bright smile on her face. Mikah stood up and hugged her before they both looked at us. Cam was standing but I still sat.
"This is my brother Cameron and his wife Kamiya."
"Wait your mom is your brothers wife?" She asked
"No but she came into my life when I was 16 and treated me like her son and I had mama issues at the time so it just stuck."
"Oh okay. Well it's nice meeting you both. My name is Shana." She held her hand out and Cam shook it. I looked up at him and he looked back at me. He quickly pulled his hand away and sat.
Mikah and Shalya sat and looked at us.
"So how long have you two been together?" Shalessa asked.
"A little over 20 years." I said
"Oh wow. I really admire couples who stay together that long. With this new generation nobody's really lasting in their marriage."
"Well when you're with someone for such a long time and you stay loyal and faithful it'll last." I said
"Well when me and Mikah tie the knot I hope it'll be until the end." She said grabbing his hand.
"So you've talked about marriage?" I asked
"Well yeah. We have been together for a year now. We even want all the kids to move with us."
"A year?" I looked at Mikah and his head was focused on the menu. "Excuse me." I said getting my purse and leaving the table. I walked to the bathroom and stood there looking in the mirror.
