Kamiya
Today was the day of the funeral and it was still not leads. Mr. Price said he would do what he could but without checking the body it wasn't much he could do. He's currently trying to get into the police documents but with this being an ongoing investigation it's hard.
The funeral was in 30 minutes and we were all getting ready here. The doorbell run and I went downstairs to get it. It was Trell and Lori.
"Come on in." I said moving aside.
They walked in but Trell stopped and turned to me.
"Mrs. Price I want to apologize about how I acted before. I let the streets get to me and I know that's not much of an excuse but I really am sorry." He said
"We'll talk after the funeral Trell." I said
"I go by Latrell now. Malaysia always wanted me to go by that." He said making me tear up a little.
"Okay Latrell you can sit in the living room with Marcus. Anthony will be here in a minute." I said. He nodded and went into the living room.
I walked back upstairs and into my bedroom. Cameron was sitting on the edge of the bed with his head in his hands.
"We burying our daughter today and we still ain't find who did this shit." He said
"I know but we will." I said
"I still can't believe this." He said
"Me either." Mr. Price said from the door. "This isn't sitting right with me. She gets up and leaves in the middle of the night. Leaves her phone and ends up in the middle of the wood 30 minutes away from here? She wasn't with her boyfriend so who the fuck was she in the wood with at 2 in the morning?" He said
"We've been trying to figure that out since we found out." Cameron said
"The limos are here." Jamila said
I reached out for Cameron's hand and he grabbed it. We all walked out and downstairs. I saw Malaya, Mikah, Shana, Adonis, Lori, Latrell and Marcus.
"Where Anthony?" I asked
"He didn't show up." Marcus said
"I'm here." Anthony said running through the door.
"I almost busted you up side your head." Cameron said
"Let's go before we be late." I said
We all walked out the house and loaded up the 2 limos. Me, Cameron, Malaya, Anthony, Marcus and Mr. Price were in the first while the rest were in the 2nd. We left our driveway and headed to the church. As we pulled up I was in shock to see the parking lot filled with people. People were holding signs saying #JusticeforMalaysia.
We pulled up to the doorsteps and walked out. As we walked through the crowd they chanted.
"JUSTICE FOR MALAYSIA!"
I thanked them the best I could and walked into the church. The inside was as packed as the outside. We went to the front and I sat with Cameron on one side and Malaya on the other.
After the crowd settled down the preacher started. He said a couple words and then it was time to Malaya and Marcus to speak.
Marcus grabbed the mic and pulled out a piece of paper.
"Malaysia. You were the sweetest girl anybody had ever met. I remember when mama brought her and Malaya home and I was mad. I wanted a sister but for some reason I wanted 3. And my mama wasn't having that." He said
It made the crowd laugh a little.
"I just want you to know that I love you. We all love you. Even though you were the little sister you always gave me and Anthony the best advice and that's one thing we'll always remember."
He moved to the side and Malaya went to the mic. She looked down at her paper and I just knew she was about to tear up.
"I don't know where to start. Malaysia was always the innocent twin. She was nice and caring. I was the one that was mean and wanted to beat everyone up. She was never a violent person. All she wanted was for everyone to be peaceful. She took the most annoying "hood" guy in school and turned him into a soft boy. That's the type of person she was. You could do her dirty but she would still find the best in you. She wasn't only my sister but my twin. We've been together..." she stopped to get herself together and Marcus patted her back. "We've been together since we were in the womb and I never thought you would get taken from me. Especially not this early. To know that someone took you from us hurts. I can no longer go to your room in the middle of the night to watch movies. I can't jump on your bed to annoy you. The person who took you from me not only took you but they took half of me too. I love you Laysia and always will." She said.
She hugged Marcus and cried into his shirt. I looked at Cameron and he had tears falling as well. I wiped mine from under my eyes and fanned myself.
They walked back to their seats and I pulled her to me. The preacher finished the funeral and it was time to go. Being that she was burned all over the casket had to be closed. We walked back to the limos and loaded up. The ride to the burial site was quiet.
Once we arrive we got out and took our seats. The preacher spoke again and then it was time to put the flowers over her casket. I watched as they lowered it into the ground. My baby is gone.
Cameron
I watched as they put my baby girl 6 feet under. A piece of my heart was being ripped out and buried 6 feet under. We walked back to the limo but Trell came and stopped me and Kamiya.
"I wanted to give these to y'all later but I couldn't wait." He gave us 2 small black boxes. When I opened it I saw my baby girl smiling on a chain. Seeing her smile again made me feel good.
"Thank you Latrell." Kamiya said
"Yeah. Thanks. And uh Malaysia always told us about how hard your life was and if you need any help just let us know." I said
"I appreciate that but I just got a job at foot locker so I might be busy."
"Well whenever you have time." Miya told him.
"Thank you." He said before walking away.
"Ma." I heard Malaya say from behind us.
We both turned and saw her, Lori and Jalen trying to catch up.
"Is it okay if Jalen come over for the dinner?" She asked
"Yeah as long as it's okay with his parents." Miya said.
"Okay." Malaya said before turning to her friends.
"This is going to be hard and weird. I always wake up both twins. I always fix 3 plates." She said
"I know baby. We gone have to adjust." I said as we stopped at the limo. I opened the door and she got in. I followed behind her and sat.
Once everyone was back in the car we rode back home.
