It was very early in the morning and Brody was already awake, in his room, alone.

'2 more hours.'

Brody was watching the clock in his room, waiting for it to tick down so that visitors would be allowed inside the hospital.

He could barely sleep all night, and there was no way he could go back to sleep now.

Brody wasn't hungry, he wasn't thirsty, he just wanted to go and see Adrian.

Sally was already outside Adrian's room when 2 police officers came by. Knowing that she wasn't home, they came to the hospital room to update her about the current situation with Sam.

"Right now, Mr Croyden is still being held in captivity. Rest assured, he is being closely monitored and shouldn't be released any time soon."

"How is he not arrested already?! Everyone saw him STAB my son, there's LITERALLY 3 witnesses and you're what? 'Closely monitoring' him? Is that it?" Sally was angry, angry and frustrated at the lack of justice for her son.

One of the officers was nervous, not daring to make eye contact with Sally as the other officer spoke. "He's being interviewed by a psychologist at a psychiatric hospital as we speak."

Brody overheard this as he stepped into view and joined in on the conversation. "So he's not being arrested?"

"We're really not allowed to disclose this to non-family members." The officer said, identifying that Brody wasn't family.

Sally argued against this as Brody had the right to know as well. "He's my son's boyfriend, and I want him to know this too."

"Plus I'm one of the key witnesses to the attack. That bastard should be in jail!" Brody exclaimed.

"Mr Croyden's parents found the anti-psychotic medication that he hasn't been taking, stashed in his bedroom floorboards. The amount found is probably over 3 months worth of prescriptions. With his mental health possibly playing a factor, a psychological assessment is best to determine how much of his mental health effected his actions, and thus determine how he can be charged." The officer explained.

Brody didn't know Sam had mental health issues, nor did he know he ever had to take any kinds of medication. But that didn't change the fact that he hurt Adrian, so badly too.

"I'm sorry but there really much we can do at the moment, not until the psychologist reviews him."

With the officers leaving, Sally and Brody went into Adrian's room. He was still asleep and breathing normally according to the heart monitor.

Brody was sitting by his side while Sally walked over to her son, and pushed Adrian's hair away from his eyes. "I never got to thank you yesterday, for saving my son's life. If you weren't there, then who knows how far my boy's injuries would be."

Brody was silent as he looked down at the floor, not daring to look at Adrian when he blamed himself for all of this. He wanted to argue back, to say he's the one that brought Sam into Adrian's life in the first place. And because it was Adrian that was dating Brody, he was the reason Adrian's was in this state in the first place.

Sally looked at the boy in his chair, his face was grey, his hair was disheveled and he had large, dark bags under his eyes.

The mother walked over to Brody and sat down next to him. She compressed his hair to make it more uniform looking, as she hugged the boy silently.

Adrian was still sleeping an hour later when Sally asked if Brody was hungry. Shaking his head at her, "No not really."
