When Momo managed to drag herself back to her dorm room that night, she found it empty. the room felt cold, bleak, gray. Just utterly lifeless. But she didn't really have the energy to care and instead just stripped from her soaked clothes and fell into her bed, leaving the pillowcase that was getting wet from her hair to be a problem for tomorrow.

She was too tired to think of her sister any longer. It just brought a stabbing pain to her head, it made her feel sick, and she couldn't even think about thinking about her parents. God knows that would only lead to her sobbing into her knees once again. So, she thought about something that brought a strange sense of warmth to her chest.

His face materialized in her mind. His heterochromatic eyes, his high cheekbones, and the half-smirk he got on his perfect lips whenever he knew he was winning. He was a thought that brought her security when she felt like her world was falling apart all over again.

Some part of her missed his warmth next to her, too. She didn't let on but she remembered being absolutely hammered and she remembered the natural way her body nestled into his while they slept. It was terribly embarrassing that she'd shown him such a loose side of her, but it was also warm. Warm because even when she whined at him and practically begged him to commit a felony, he just treated her with the most gentle mannerisms.

She couldn't help but find her thoughts taken over by him, a welcome change to her "parents" or the sister that she'd lost. If anything, she just wanted him there with her, but she knew that would be breaking some kind of rule. They had something good going on. They played Uno and talked about everything. Their relationship relied on their relative anonymity. The only personal things they knew about each other were from those damn questions. Plus, if Todoroki knew what she was, a sad story with a bright outer shell, he would run for the hills.

She was a walking tragedy and the only functioning relationships she'd ever had broke at her touch. Which is probably why you couldn't exactly call what Todoroki and Momo had "functioning." In her experience, people either didn't know how to handle her level of depressing or they did and they just didn't want to. It wasn't even that Momo was a sad person. Generally speaking, she was bright, funny, even happy-go-licky at times. But her past followed her around like a storm cloud that lingered just a few steps behind.

Thoughts like this swirled around her head for hours before she eventually fell into a deep, dreamless sleep. She was going to feel like crap in the morning, that was for sure.

Todoroki couldn't help but spend most of his waking moments thinking about Momo. No matter how many faceless girls he took home, or how much schoolwork he threw himself into, whenever he had the chance, his thoughts always drifted back to her.

He had asked himself why about a million times. Why was she taking over his mind? What was it about her that made her special? Beautiful girls were everywhere but there was no one who was beautiful like Momo Yaoyorozu. He used to think that normal girls were pretty but somehow, just spending hours on end playing Uno with this girl had warped his standard of beauty. Not that other girls weren't cute, but none of them were Momo.

This is what he thought about as he tapped his pencil absentmindedly on the table in front of him. He wasn't paying any attention to the information he was supposedly being tested on next week. It was in one ear and out the other with him.

Even his friend's bantering and jokes didn't interest him at the moment. Kirishima smacked Bakugou for distracting him while he was trying to listen (Kirishima was terribly intelligent because he acutally tried at college). This normally would've at least amused Todoroki, if not make him chuckle, but today he just zoned out, his brain focused on someone far more interesting than those two.

Kaminari even tried asking him if he was having a stroke of something, but Todoroki just said, "Sure, whatever," Having not listened to the question at all. Kaminari could've asked him to become a male stripper and his answer would've been, "Sure, whatever." Becuase all he could think about was those eyes and how she looked when she was pouting.

The only thing that eventually snapped him out of his trance was when Kaminari flicked him on the temple and told him, "Dude, class is over." Todoroki just nodded, more to himself than Kamianri as he was silently telling himself that he was visiting her tonight.

"So, you guys wanna get dinner tonight?" Kaminari asked the group, eliciting a nod from Kirishima and a "Whatever," from Bakugou that everyone basically knew meant yes. Normally, Todoroki would be all for it because by "dinner" Kaminari meant beer and beer meant a bar and bar meant hot chicks, but all he was really interested in doing to night was playing a game of Uno. Yeah, it confused even him.

"Nah," Todoroki shook his head, shouldering his backpack as he stared straight ahead at the bright blue sky. Rain the night before always meant that the sky was like a blank slate the next morning. His friends just looked at him as though he'd been taken over by an alien. He might as well have been becuase he certainly wasn't acting like himself.

"Uh...do you have plans tonight?" Kaminari asked like it would be insane for Todoroki to have plans with anyone other than them or a girl. Kaminari hadn't heard of any events going on that night and Todoroki didn't take girls on dates. The only time he did anything resembling a date was when he knew the night would end in something a lot more fun than eating food and talking.

"Yup," He popped the P, making sure to emphasize his point by not looking at any of them and just staring straight ahead. Todoroki had never been the wordiest guy, but this was a new level of vauge.

"Like...with a girl?" Kaminari furrowed his eyebrows questioningly wondering just what the hell had gotten into his friend.

"Yup."

"Like, a date?" Kirishima decided to get in on the conversation that was actually starting to interest him more than his usual bickering with Bakugou.

"Nope."

"Like, sex?"

"Nope."

And that was just the beginning of a very long interrogation session in which Todoroki responded entirely with one-word answers and they got absolutely no information out of him. In Todoroki's mind, Momo wasn't just a girl. She was something else entirely and Todoroki wanted to figure out what before he told his friends a word about her. She was his and his alone. At least for the time being.
