"Firs' years over here! C'mon now don' be shy!" Hagrid's loud booming voice could be heard as the Hogwarts students shuffled off of the train and divided into their respectable groups.

Harry smiled at the sight of Hagrid directing a group of first years to the boats which were to take them to the school.

"Hello Hagrid!" He chirped at the large man, Ron trailing behind him in awe.

"Well 'ello Harry!"

"WOAH!!" Ron gasped out loud eyes fixed on Hagrid while they entered their boat.

The train ride to Hogwarts was definitely memorable for the two boys. A boy named Neville lost his toad, and just before Ron was about to turn his rat yellow a girl with bushy curly hair named Hermione walked in looking for said toad. Ron and Harry thought she was a bit rude, although she did fix Harry's broken glasses with a spell.

The boats started heading towards the castle and everyone's attention was brought towards the glimmering grand school of Hogwarts they were to call their home for the next year.
This was, for a lack of a better term, magical.

Before Harry could register anything that was happening he was already walking up a long staircase with his fellow first years through the extravagant castle, meeting at the top of which an elderly woman with a pointy hat.

"Welcome to Hogwarts!" She declares eyeing the lively students.

"Now in a few moments you will walk through these doors and join your classmates, but before you can take your seats you must be sorted into your houses. There are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin."

There was a slight pause and Harry looked at (y/n) who had locked eyes with the boys beside her smirking at each other.

"Now while you're here, your house will be like your family." She continued, "Your triumphs will earn you points, any rule breaking and you will lose points. At the end of the year the house with the most points will win the house cup-

"TREVOR!" A boy who Harry assumed was Neville yelled. He looked up slightly at the woman and gulped, mumbling a sorry he then quickly turned away.

"The sorting ceremony will begin momentarily." She said finally before turning away and entering the Great Hall. Leaving the students to talk among themselves, whispering about the Professors, and which house they wanted to be in.

"It's true then." The blonde boy beside (y/n) spoke up, walking towards Harry, "What they're saying on the train, Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts." There was an outburst of whispers at the mention of Harry's name (something Harry had gotten used to).

(y/n) rolls her eyes at the Malfoy boy but walks up beside him, wanting to see the outcome of his foolishness.

"This is Crabbe, Goyle." He gestured to the two bigger boys beside him. Both of them with blank expressions as they nod at Potter.

"And you've already met my second-hand man-" (y/n) nudges him in the ribs shaking her head at him disappointingly.

"Sorry Woman, (y/n) (l/n)." He smiles at her and she just rolls her eyes at his display. There was another set of whispers that followed, although these voices seemed more unpleasant (something (y/n) was also used to).

Malfoy walks closer to Potter, leaving his three friends behind. Harry looks at (y/n) with concern but she just shrugs her shoulders switching her attention onto the painting on the walls instead of the two boys.

"And I'm Malfoy, Draco Malfoy." Draco says in a matter-of-factly tone, similar to the way (y/n) had introduced herself earlier, just more condescending.
