(y/n) felt sick to her stomach.

It had been a whole day and her mother hadn't replied yet, which only fueled her concerns.

It was currently their last class of the day: Transfiguration, and Mcgonagall was teaching the class how to transfigure animals into water goblets.

However (y/n) hadn't listened to a thing the whole class. Was she avoiding her questions? Her mother never took long to answer a letter.

Mcgonagall stepped down from the front of the class, causing (y/n) to shift her focus onto her.
"Ah Mr Weasley, one two three, Vera Verto."

Ron nodded his head and cleared his throat, "Vera Verto." The squeaking rat turned into a hairy goblet, still with its tail. The whole class erupted into giggles.

Mcgonagall shook her head in disapproval, "That wand needs replacing Mr Weasley."

From beside (y/n), Hermione -for the first time ever- hesitantly raised her hand. (y/n) looked at her questionably, Hermione was never hesitant about a question.

"Professor I was wondering if you could tell us about the chamber of secrets."

(y/n)s head perked up and she sat up straight. Mcgonagall stiffened and her eyes flickered to her then back to Hermione.

"Very well, you all know that Hogwarts was founded over a thousand years ago by the four greatest witches and wizards of the age. Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin." (y/n) smiled widely, her mother used to tell her stories about Salazar Slytherin, he was an idol in their family.

Mcgonagall on the other hand didn't seem as amused. "Now three of the founders co-existed quite harmoniously, one did not."

"Three guesses who." Ron said smugly to Harry.

"Salazar Slytherin wished to be more selective about the students submitted into Hogwarts. He believed magical learning should be kept between all magic families, in other words purebloods."
Draco smirked at Hermione for a second and (y/n) rubbed her temples annoyed. Making a mental reminder to strangle him after transfiguration.

"Now according to legend Slytherin had built a hidden chamber in this castle known as the chamber of secrets. But shortly before departing he sealed it until that time when his own true heir returns to the school. The heir alone will be able to open the chamber and unleash the horror that lies within it, and by so doing purge the school of all those who-- in Slytherins view were unworthy to study magic."

Hermione gulped, "Muggleborns."

"Naturally the school has been searched many times, no such chamber has been found." Mcgonagall walked back up to the front of the classroom, clearly uncomfortable.

"Professor?" Hermione chirped, causing Mcgonagall to turn around quickly.
"What exactly does legend tell us lies within the chamber?"

"The chamber is said to hold something that only the heir of Slytherin can control, it is said to be the home of a monster."

The class went completely silent, fear was evident on everyone's faces, well everyone except Draco who was smirking smugly at Ron.

Mcgonagall dismissed them and (y/n) bolted up to Draco. "Know something I don't Malfoy?"

He chuckled a bit and slung an arm around her shoulder. "Why yes I think I do (l/n)"

"Well do tell then." She wasn't in the mood for his antics.

"Has your mum written back to you yet?"

(y/n) rolled her eyes, "No she hasn't, I've told you this I was complaining about it all of lunch."
