Ever since the dueling club incident there had been speculation going around that Harry Potter was the heir of Slytherin.

Which (y/n) thought was absolutely ridiculous and completely unfair. She could speak Parseltongue too! Didn't mean she was opening chambers and spilling it's secrets.

She almost felt bad for him. Because of these rumors many people started to avoid him, much like some avoided her because of the rumors about her family.

The fact that he was the first one to see Justin Finch-Fletchy and nearly headless Nick petrified didn't help his case either, only fueling the accusations thrown at him during classes or in the great hall.

But still the thought that Potter might be controlling some monster and going after muggleborns was completely absurd.

Although it was a burden for Potter, him speaking Parseltongue had its ups for (y/n). Since only they could hear the mysterious voice in the wall, as the intellectual she was she concluded that it was a snake of some sort. It only made sense, them being the only Parselmouths in the school.

Though she couldn't tell the trio that, or anyone else for that matter. By the whole of Hogwarts reaction to Harry speaking Parseltongue, (y/n) thought it was best if no one found out that she could too. Besides her mother warned her against getting too involved with him this year so she had to subject herself to her wishes.

It wasn't like the trio was making it hard for her to keep her distance. They had been very distant lately, suspicious almost. As if they were plotting something. Whispering discretely to each other, always running off to the girls lavatories.

Should she be worried? Possibly.

But she wasn't! That trio always found themselves in trouble, and (y/n) was determined to spend the last of her second year having fun and not worrying about what was going to come up and almost kill her next.

So she found herself in the Slytherin common room, with Draco and his friends instead of the Gryffindors.

She wasn't sure if all the time she had been spending in their common room was allowed, but technically if she isn't not caught no rules are broken.

"Where on earth are those thick headed buffoons." Draco groaned angrily, trudging through the dimly lit hallways.

(y/n) shrugged her shoulders, only half listening to his rants about how moronic Crabbe and Goyle could be.

"Last I saw them was in the great hall before we left" He looked at her with an annoyed expression, "They weren't finished eating remember? If you weren't so impatient we could've just waited for them to finish then gone to the owlery together."

Draco scoffed rolling his eyes, "If we had waited we wouldn't get to the owlery until the next morning, Crabbe and Goyle are never finished eating."

"Well you're not wrong I guess-

"Crabbe! Goyle! Where on earth have you been? Pigging out in the great hall all this time?" Draco queried, cutting (y/n) off, they both marched up to the two who were talking to Percy Weasley.

(y/n) wrapped her arms around both of their shoulders stepping in between them. "Draco's been driving me insane and it's all because of you two!" She snarled, smacking the back of their heads, "Next time eat faster!"

The two nodded, oddly shy, at both Draco and herself. "Why're you wearing glasses?" Draco asked Goyle, who was wearing circular glasses which looked strangely familiar.

"U-uh um.. Reading." He stuttered quickly removing the glasses.

Draco narrowed his eyes, "Reading? I didn't know you could read."
