After their disagreement about ol'Harold James Potter, the train ride to Kings Cross Station was peaceful, filled with more enjoyable conversation about things like their classes and talking about the other students in their year.

"Blaise told me that Pansy Parkinson has been following Draco around like a lost puppy ever since he helped her get the notes she was missing in Transfiguration." (y/n) snickered, "And by the look on Draco's face whenever she comes waltzing up to him, he's been regretting it ever since."

"Well Parkinson does look like a pug." Hermione let out a light giggle and (y/n) gasped in surprise.
"What happened to you Mione? You just talked bad about someone you don't know!"

She slapped her arm, which only caused them both to laugh harder. "Shut up y/n/n!"

Their laughter ceased as a certain blonde approached the compartment door opening it without knocking.

"(y/n) there you are, I've been looking all over for you!" He ran over, alarming her.

"Draco I told you I'd meet you at the station." (y/n) said confused. He backed away and looked at Hermione who was sitting across from her..

"So you decided to sit with Granger instead of me?" (y/n) simply nodded at him, already annoyed.

"What's next? Why don't you go off and snog Potter?" He raised his voice to a slight yell flailing his arms around.

"What the hell Draco! No! What's your problem?" She yelled back at him standing up to his level.

"My problem is you've decided to go off and befriend a bunch of witches and wizards who are all practically the scum of the wizarding world! First those Weasley boys and now the Mudblood! Have you gone insane?"

(y/n) charged up to him and stuck her wand to his throat, "You have no right to speak about any of my friends like that Malfoy. Watch your tongue before I slice it off. "

"I-I'll tell your m-mother" He muttered under his breath, stumbling his words. (y/n) let out a low laugh and pushed her wand harder against his throat.

"If my mother hears one word about this Malfoy, I'll be sure to find out how that lovely cruciatus curse your aunt Bellatrix loves so much works." He gulped dryly, "But of course not before I shave off that precious hair of yours."

He stayed silent for a moment, anger and resentment pouring out of his eyes.

"Fine." He spat, "I won't say anything."

"You swear Draco?"

"I swear (y/n) just let me go." She took her wand off him and he scurried out of the door not looking back.

(y/n) let out a loud groan and sat back down, leaning on the window. Hermione stared at her worriedly as she closed her eyes.

"I'm sorry." She murmured, her eyes still shut tight.

"You have nothing to be sorry for, you stuck up for me. I should be thanking you."

(y/n) sighed and opened her eyes frowning at Hermione.
"No i'm sorry about what Malfoy said about you, he's wrong and just jealous that you're the only one in his way from getting top marks, Hermione you're the smartest witch I've ever met, I just wish Draco could grow and and stop being an overbearing twat."

She laughed slightly and got up sitting beside (y/n) wrapping her in a tight hug,
"Don't worry (y/n) he'll come to his senses, and I must say it was quite entertaining seeing Malfoy scared for once, you really are the only person who can put him in his place."
