"Mione, I don't know if you can hear me or not, like are you passed out or just like not able to move? I should've listened to Professor Sprout instead of throwing in leaves in Potters hair." (y/n) sighed leaning onto Hermione's bed, her head in her hand as the other one twirled her hair. She rolled her eyes at her own rambling, If Hermione was able to move she would have shut her up with one of her 'i'm thinking' glares.
"Anyways back to the point, I really miss you. I'm helping Potter and Weasley figure out who's behind the chamber of secrets.""I don't know how you can stand to be around Weasley for longer than 20 minutes, you really are a saint Mione." Two sets of footsteps could be heard outside of the hospital wing, so (y/n) decided to wrap up her sappy speech.
"Please stop being frozen soon we need your brain."
"(y/n) what are you doing here?" Harry's voice asked quietly as to not disturb the other patients as he sat down beside her at Hermione's side. Ron sat across from the two.
She shrugged her shoulders and leaned back into her chair, "Talking to my petrified friend, what about you?"
"We were about to just do the same." Harry smiled at her, after the spider scare in the forbidden forest the three had decided to be civil with each other, although there was still the occasional taunt here and there.
"Well do you mind if I stay? The common rooms quite boring and Snapes busted me a few times for hanging around the Slytherin common room."
Harry and Ron both looked at each other before nodding, "Sure we don't mind." He said before turning to Hermione, grabbing her hand.
"Wish you were here Hermione,"
"Yeah (y/n) and Harry are getting along and you're missing it." Ron whispered in her ear, quiet and discreetly enough that neither of the two heard him.
"We need you, now more than ever." Harry finished. (y/n) and Ron sighed heavily.
Harry tugged out a crumpled piece of paper of her hand, furrowing his eyebrows as he read it.
"What's that?" Ron asked.
"Ron, (y/n), this is why Hermione was in the library the day she was attacked?"
(y/n) scrunched her nose and loomed over Harry's shoulder, her interest now piqued.
But before she could read anything he jumped out of his seat, heading for the door. "Come on."
"There are many fearsome beasts that roam our land, but none are more deadly than the basilisk." Harry read from the paper as they hurried through the halls. "Capable of living for hundreds of years, instant death awaits any who meet this giant serpent's eye."
(y/n) shivered, why had Hermione been reading about a basilisk? Why not a nice unicorn or a fluffy bunny?
"Spiders flee before it!" Harry finished, the two other Gryffindors lifted their heads now realizing. "This is it! The monster in the chamber of secrets is a basilisk, that's why I can hear it speak, it's a snake!"
Ron tilted his head in confusion, "But if it kills by looking people in the eye, how come no ones dead?" Both Harry and (y/n) looked down, both deep in thought.
(y/n)s eyes moved to the glass in front of them, looking at their reflections. Harry followed her gaze, both seemingly thinking the same thing.
"Because no one has looked it in the eye" She mumbled, Harry nodded thinking the same thing.
"Not directly at least." He added. They moved away from the window starting back down the hall.
"Collin saw it through his camera." Harry continued. (y/n) and Ron both nodded. "But what about Justin?" She asked.
