"Gather round! Gather round!" Lockhart boomed walking across a thin platform. His head held high as many of the students around him beamed in anticipation. He was hosting a dueling club, because of the recent events involving the chamber of secrets and such.
(y/n) originally wasn't planning to come at first, because really what could Lockhart possibly teach anyone about dueling? The same man who couldn't contain a bunch of cornish pixies, he seemed to have the magical talent of a goldfish.
But Blaise convinced her to come, if not to learn it would be a good laugh he assured.
"Can everybody see me! Can you all hear me?"
(y/n) turned to Blaise, already bored. "Unfortunately."
"Cheer up (l/n), Lockhart's bound to trip on his robe and fall off the stage at some point." He smirked at her and she nodded in agreement.
"Fingers crossed.""In light of the dark events of recent weeks Professor Dumbledore has granted me permission to start this little dueling club."
"To train you all in case you ever need to defend yourselves. As I myself have done on countless occasions, for full details see my published works." He said charmingly, then threw his robe to a group of swooning girls in the crowd. (y/n) groaned at his lame attempt of self promo and at how easily he charmed the young girls.
"That mans bound to be a phony, he's more prideful than a Gryffindor and I heard he was a Ravenclaw!" She stared at Lockhart scoffing, "Aren't Ravenclaws supposed to be you know, smart? Lockhart couldn't even handle a bunch of pixies."
"Well he's got everyone else fooled, and how do you suppose he's done that?" Blaise remarked casually.
(y/n) crossed her arms and rolled her eyes, "An evil twin? The dark arts?" He raised an eyebrow suspiciously at her rambling. "Oh I don't know, maybe he's Voldemort!"
Blaise laughed loudly, earning strange looks from the two Hufflepuff boys behind them. "You're mental."
"Oh shush, however he does it I'm onto him and I'll figure it out." She flicked the back of his head earning a hiss of pain and a kick in the shin.
Before long Lockhart started up again, "Let me introduce my assistant, Professor Snape!"
(y/n)s eyes lit up and she grinned widely as Snape glided up onto the stage towards Lockhart, a cold menacing look evident on his face.
"He has sportingly agreed to help me with a short demonstration," Lockhart continued, "Now I don't want any of you youngsters to worry you'll still have your potions master when i'm through with him, never fear." He ended with a wink and (y/n) could almost feel her lunch coming up her throat.
The professors faced each other in appropriate wizarding duel fashion, swiftly flashing their wands up then back down before bowing. The two then turned around and took a couple steps back.
"One... Two... Three-
"EXPELLIARMUS!" A flash of gold light shot out of Snape's wand, hitting Lockhart before he could fight back, launching him backwards.
(y/n)s mouth formed an 'o' shape as her eyes widened in admiration.
"Blaise thank you for convincing me to come." She whispered between giggles at the sight of a winded Lockhart. Blaise smiled in reply.Lockhart quickly got up and started toward Snape, "An excellent idea to show them that Professor Snape, but if you don't mind me saying it was pretty obvious what you were about to do, and if I had wanted to stop you it would've been too easy." He babbled, but Snape's cold expression stayed the same.
