The three Gryffindors screamed in terror,

The slide down to the chamber was dark and almost damp, the sounds of their wails bellowing in size because of the echo in the tunnel.

Ron landed with a thud beside Lockhart (Harry and (y/n) following not long after) onto what seemed to be small and crunchy animal bones.

(y/n) was the first to get up, dusting herself off while staring deathly at Harry, the pure flame of anger burning in her eyes. Harry had almost doubled back in fright when she started charging at him.

"WHERE IN THE BLOODY HELL ARE WE POTTER!" She yelled, throwing her hands up in the air before waving them around gesturing towards her bleak surroundings, her voice echoed throughout the chamber, causing both Ron and Lockhart to wince. "YOU COULDN'T HAVE BOTHERED TO ASK BEFORE YOU VIOLATED MY HAND AND DRAGGED ME DOWN TO THIS GLORIFIED WORMS TRASHCAN?!?"

Harry scrunched his nose up at her odd choice of words for a split second, then quickly jumped up covering her mouth with his hand, "Keep your voice down." He whispered, realizing that her yelling could attract the beast. She gradually calmed down, understanding what he meant.

(y/n) bit his hand, earning a yelp from the boy, "If I end up with a goddamn concussion again I swear to Merlin I will peel off each and every single one of your toenails and feed them to Hedwig."

"That's a weird threat." Ron said pointedly, Harry nodded while (y/n) rolled her eyes. "Shut up bird brain."

"Now remember any sign of movement, close your eyes straight away." Harry stated, the two second years nodded in response. The four of them ran out of the bone filled tunnel, wincing at the sound of crackling coming from underneath them.

"What's this?" Ron asked, as he approached what at first glance to (y/n), looked like a large rock.

"A boulder?" She said confusingly, knocking it playfully, causing it to indent at the place where she had touched, "Nevermind."

Lockhart walked in between Ron and (y/n), "It looks like a-- snake?"

"It's a snakeskin." Harry said almost condescendingly as he eagerly crawled along the large skin.

"Bloody Hell! Whatever shed this must be 6oft long!" Ron exclaimed. (y/n) sniffled as she ran her hand along the shedded skin, a bit repulsed by the feeling.

Without warning Lockhart fell to the ground, alarming the three Gryffindors, each of them losing focus on what they were doing to whip their heads at Lockhart.

"You alright there champ?" (y/n) asked, jokingly, patting the shoulder that was not touching the ground.

Ron shook his head, "Heart of a lion, this one." Then suddenly Lockhart jumped up, grabbing the wand right out of Rons hand, breathing heavily as he stood up quickly, shakily pointing the bent wand at the three.

"The adventure ends here kids," He circled around the three, making sure not to let any one of them out of his sight, "But don't fret, the world will know our story. How I was too late to save the girl." He frowned one of those fake tv frowns.

"How you three tragically lost your minds at the sight of her mangled body." He turned to Harry, "So, you first Mr Potter." Harry's eyes widen in his round glasses.

"Say goodbye to your memories." Harry stared in horror as Ron looked worriedly at (y/n), who closed her eyes mumbling annoyed profanities about how 'nothing good ever comes from being around Potter.'

"Obliviate." Lockhart sneered, but to everyone's surprise the spell fired backwards, hitting Lockhart instead of Potter, throwing the self proclaimed memory spell expert back towards the wall.

The brute force of Lockhart crashing into the wall caused the cave to start to tumble down around them, thundering loudly as rocks fell down around them, splitting up the four. Ron stuck with Lockhart while (y/n) and Harry jumped backwards, both landing flat on their backs just barely missing being crushed by the crumbling stones.

"HARRY! (Y/N)!" Ron coughed. Harry stumbled up to the small opening while (y/n) caught her breath.

Harry leant forward towards their only source of light, "RON! RON ARE YOU OKAY??!" He yelled as (y/n) joined him, rubbing her head from the hard impact she made to the floor when she jumped.

"I'M FINE!" Ron shouted back. Lockhart coughed harshly, waking up from the memory spell.

"Hello?" He said groggily, still laid on the rocky ground. "Who are you?"

Ron scrunched his nose, unsure on what to do with his now clueless former professor, "Uhm-- Ron Weasley."

"Really!?" Lockhart chirped rather cheerfully, "And uh- Who am I?"

Ron sighed and turned his attention back to the hole which (y/n) and Harry were eagerly staring at him through, the two of them pushing each other to try and get the best view.
"LOCKHARTS MEMORY CHARM BACKFIRED! HE HASN'T GOT A CLUE WHO HE IS!" He shouted at them.

(y/n) rolled her eyes, "ISN'T THAT THE WHOLE POINT?" Harry snickered quietly, "Guess he really was good at memory charms."

"This is an odd sort of place isn't it?" Lockhart rambled, picking up rocks. "Do you live here?" He questioned looking up at Ron, who just scoffed and snatched the rock out of Lockharts hand.

"No."

"Really-" But before he could finish Ron had smashed the rock at his head, causing him to lose consciousness and fall back down to the ground.

(y/n) sucked in a breath and leaned back, "Yikes."

Ron started breathing heavily, just realizing what he had done. "WHAT DO I DO NOW?!" He called his eyes bright in the dark light as he panicked.

"YOU WAIT HERE AND TRY AND SHIFT SOME OF THIS ROCK SO WE CAN GET BACK THROUGH!" Harry called back, (y/n) had already started climbing down the piles of rock they had been standing on and toward what she assumed to be the chamber opening. "WE'LL GO IN AND FIND GINNY!"

Ron calmed down a bit, "OKAY!" Harry dove down quickly to where (y/n) had been standing. In front of a circular door, with seven large snakes coming from the hinges.

(y/n) was so enthralled by the odd shaped door that she hadn't even noticed Harry come up beside her.

"Do you want to open it?" He asked quietly. (y/n) looked at him quizzically. "I know you can." Her eyebrows knitted in confusion, but he continued on, grabbing her shoulder and gesturing her closer to the door.

"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone else that you can speak it." He assured, smiling warmly. "I did drag you down here, and knowing you you've probably wanted to flaunt your secret talent all year."

It took her a second to soothe the shock that Harry Potter knew her biggest secret. How did he know? She thought, was she really that terrible at keeping secrets?

Humming quietly in response she stepped a bit closer to the door, whispering something in parseltongue, causing the sound of a lock clicking and an eighth snake to come out. Slithering around each snake the other second would jump back with another click.

(y/n) gulped as the door swung open. Harry held out an encouraging hand, which she graciously took as the two stepped into the tunnel together.

"Let's boogie." (y/n) joked to lighten the tension. Harry sniffed and rolled his eyes at her as he let go of her hand and started down the ladder.

She watched him climb down with fear rising up inside her, "Into the goddamn snake toilet we go." She sighed hesitantly following him down.
