"Life is full of twists and turns, life and death, dark and light. While we never know where we are going, or how we'll get there, there is one thing for certain. Change is unavoidable."

𝓢𝓮𝓬𝓻𝓮𝓽𝓼. Our lives were filled with them, and some of us were better than others at keeping them. Hence why I was sitting here in shock as me, Elena and Bonnie were having dinner at the grill when Elena dropped probably the biggest secret of our lives to her. We had only just found out last night that Elena was adopted, and that we were sisters. Well, twins to be more exact. Hell, I was still trying to process the information but here she was blurting it out.
"I can't believe you're adopted," she looked at Elena before looking between the two of us, "And that you two are sisters, or err twins."
I rolled my eyes and took a sip of my drink, "Explains why you, Caroline and Matt all commented on how I looked like Elena at the carnival."
Elena nervously chuckled, "Yeah but it gets weirder, I looked at my birth certificate and it lists Miranda and Grayson Gilbert as my birth parents."
Bonnie looked at me, "What about yours, Adriana?"
"My lists Richard and Carol Lockwood as my adoptee parents. So, it's just another dead end."
"You two should ask Jenna, if she knows anything, I'm sure she would tell you," Elena groans causing Bonnie to continue, "First off, the Elena I know would want the truth, good or bad."
She raised an eyebrow, "And second of all?"
"You just found out your new boyfriend is a vampire so unless your guys' birth parents are aliens then you'll be ok." Bonne smiled.
I laughed, "Good point, Bon-Bon."
Elena rolled her eyes, "Well, I need to get some accessories for the dance tonight."
I groaned, "That's tonight? Damn, I totally forgot. I'll come with you and pick up something quick for it."
We both said our goodbyes to Bonnie, and exited the Grill talking about where we wanted to go. I wasn't too keen on going to get an outfit for the dance, I wasn't a fan of dances, but it seemed like this town had an endless supply of them. We got to my car when my phone started ringing, I pulled it out of my purse and frowned as it showed 'unknown.
I answered it as Elena looked at me weird as we stood by my car, "Hello?"
"Hello, Adriana." A man spoke.
"Hi, who is this?" I replied, as Elena leaned against my new car.
"You hit me with your car," I froze before looking around wildly, "Is that your new car?"
Elena looked at me weirdly, "What's going on? Adriana?"
I turned to my left and saw a man with a black hoodie on, his hand raised obviously on the phone. He was walking towards us, and my heart began to race. I unlocked my car doors and motioned for Elena to get in as I ran around to the driver's side.
"You got away the first time, it won't happen again Adriana. And be sure to tell Elena I said hello." He spoke before the call ended.
I threw open my door and got into the car as quickly as I could. I threw my purse into the back seat and started the car as Elena looked around rapidly. I peeled out of the parking lot and down the road as the man watched us leave. My heart was racing, he was close. Too close.
