"The truth is something far more complex than we can somtimes handle, or even care to know. As Oscar Wilde once said, "The Truth is rarely pure and never simple." Sometimes learning the truth behind a mystery hurts us far more than what we were left with in the beginning."

𝓦𝓮𝓲𝓻𝓭. That's how today was going, I had spent the morning and some of the early afternoon in my room drawing my heart out. I loved to sketch it helped me decompress and after everything that had happened lately, I needed it. I had been putting the finishing touches on the tiger lily I had drawn when Elena had called me in panic. Apparently, Jenna had given her information on our mother, Isobel, and she went to go see one of her old friend's Trudie.

I had picked up Elena from her house and we briefly discussed what had happened when she went. Apparently Trudie knew of vampires as she didn't invite Elena in, and she gave her vervain filled tea. And once Elena questioned it, she was kicked out of the house. And the weirdest part was that there was a man standing in the middle of the road when Elena tried to get to her car. I had told her she needed to start carrying either a taser or pepper spray with her if she was going to continue doing dangerous missions all by herself, but she just rolled her eyes at me.

"So, you're telling me that the nurse named us?" I questioned as we walked into the Salvatore boarding house.

"Yep, apparently it was a surprise to everyone that she was having twins. Something about one of the babies blocking the other on the ultrasound. And she couldn't decide what to name us, but a nurse stepped in and gave her opinion." Elena replied as she shut the door behind us.

"It makes sense if you think about it, Elena means light while Adriana means darkness. Yin and yang sort of thing, cute for twins I guess," I mulled over the new information she was giving me, "Did she say what her name was? Maybe we can track her down and see if she knows anything."

Elena's eyebrows furrowed as we headed up the steps to go to Stefan's room, "She said her name was Kat, and that was it. I doubt we could even track her down."

I shrugged, "It's worth a shot."

We stepped into Stefan's room and Elena called out, "Stefan?"

Damon answered walking out of the bathroom without a shirt on, "Better. Me."

Elena's face scrunched up as she took him in, "You look, um..."

"Dashing? Gorgeous? Irresistible?" Damon smirked, as he walked across the room coming way too close to her for comfort.

I snorted, "More like a hot mess. You look absolutely wrecked."

Damon rolled his eyes as Elena pushed him away, "No reason why. Hey by the way, did you know that I am one of Mystic Falls' most eligible bachelors?"

"You sure about that?" Elena questioned, glancing over towards me.

"Yep." He replied.

"How are you doing?" Elena asked, trying to see how he was handling the situation.

"Never better, yep," Damon starts to button up his shirt, "So what can I do for you two? I'm a huge barrel of favors today. It's my newfound purpose in life, how can I help people?"

"I'm just meeting Stefan; we are going to the fundraiser."

Damon is struggling with the buttons on his shirt, I rolled my eyes, he was still probably drunk, "Help a guy out will you princess? I can't get this."
