"The past always seems to return, no matter how much we try to forget it. They say look forward to the future, but it's hard with an anchor tied around you dragging you back down in the cold depths of the past. So I shall ask, who will be there to cut you free from your anchor?"

Nine
𝓔𝔁𝓹𝓮𝓬𝓽𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷𝓼. Life was full of them; it is something we can never fully escape. I had an expectation that my newfound sister wouldn't be so forgiving towards her boyfriend, err, ex-boyfriend...well whatever he was but nope that went out the window when this morning Damon and I had walked in on them after a night of having fun. If you know what I mean, but hey at least I didn't have to worry about her getting knocked up, right?
I was leaning against the kitchen counter toying with my wine glass as Damon cut up a bright red tomato. We were waiting on Elena and Stefan to arrive, after this morning's exchange we took off to start digging around trying to find Johnathan Gilbert's journal. Neither of us had heard anything from either Stefan or Elena so Damon decided we should drop by and check on their progress. By stop by he meant try and charm Jenna by cooking her dinner, while I watched them converse graciously sipping the white wine she had given me.
"My father never approved of anyone that I had dated, which of course made me want them even more. What about you?" Damon glanced up at Jenna, still cutting up tomatoes.
"There were a few guys here and there, Logan wasn't the only loser I've dated." Jenna replied, before taking a small sip of her wine.
"Tell me about it," I grumbled remembering her other ex's, Jenna frowned and bumped my shoulder with hers knocking me over slightly. Rude.
Damon's eyebrows furrowed as he looked at her, "Did they ever find him? Or is he still missing?"
"He's not missing, apparently he's in the Bahamas working on his tan. Very entitled," Jenna downs the rest of her wine, "He's a Fell, they are all snooty."
I snorted, "Been there done that, I can agree with Jenna on that one."
"You've dated a Fell?" Damon looked at me with an amused smirk on his face.
"Chase Fell, he's on the football team with my brother. It was a summer fling, but he thought otherwise." I explained, those memories coming back to haunt me once more.
Damon lifted up his knife and waved it mockingly, "Do I need to kill him?"
I laughed, "Nope, I took care of it."
"How?" He questioned, obviously curious about what I had to say.
Jenna snorted with laughter, "I remember that! I can't believe I forgot, that was one of the funniest days of my life."
My lips turned up in a smile, "Well, you see he couldn't take a hint and kept following me around school blabbering on about us being the perfect couple. You know, the jock and the cheerleader. One founding family joining with another, blah blah blah. So finally, after weeks of this I had finally snapped, I screamed at him throwing every insult I could before I kneed him hard in the balls. He left me alone after that."
Jenna started chackling, "You should have seen the look on his face! Somebody had managed to get it on film, and she sent it to me."
"It seems like you've always been a little spitfire, huh," Damon winked at me, causing me to blush.
