"Oh my goodness you look gorgeous sweetie," Sheila's mom Dominique, complimented her.  She sniffled, feeling an overwhelming sense of joy as tears flowed into the creases of her cheeks. She admired her daughter, and patted underneath her eyes with a used tissue that she kept in her hand as the hair dresser laid down Sheila's edges.

Ebony stood aside fluffing out her ponytail and trying not to cry.

Her best friend was getting married. She reminded herself. It seemed like just yesterday she and Sheila dreamt of this day and it was finally coming true...well for her.

"Gorgeous is an understatement...there has to be another word to describe how beautiful you look...you look stunning." Ebony gasped, coving her mouth trying to hold back tears, she smiled proudly as she stood by her best friend in one of the dressing rooms of the grand cathedral.

The wedding would be starting shortly and guests had already arrived and were at their seats in the pews of the church.

Amber and Jocelyn has just finished getting ready and looked at themselves in the mirror.

"Ooh, you are one bad ass b—"

Jocelyn nudged her best friend to remind them that they were in a church.

"What? Im not catholic and, I'm pretty sure ass is in the Bible." Amber nervously covered up.

"That wasn't the word that I was worried about." Dominique cleared her throat.

"Anyways, the wedding will be starting shortly, I'm going to find Bakari get in position and you guys should too," Ebony suggested the women to hurry up.

The wedding director walked inside of the dressing room carrying her clip board, and lifted up her mouthpiece to her headset.

"The wedding is starting in 15 minutes, I would suggest everyone wrap it up and meet the men out front.   Amber with Jayson, Jocelyn with Shameik and Ebony with Bakari.  I need you two out in front of the sanctuary now."

"The next time I see you you will be Mrs. Jamal Thompson. I'm so happy for you sis, whooo!" The ladies cheered in unison and said a quick prayer as they joined their partners out in front of the sanctuary.

Bakari stood in front of the doors to the sanctuary, anxiously looking at his Rolex watch, the one that Ebony had gotten him for his birthday a couple of years ago. Ebony nervously breathed out, with one hand holding onto her stomach while the other onto the small train of her dress so it wouldn't be dragged onto the floor.

He slowly turned to look at her with the same emotionless expression as he had before he had turned around. Ebony nervously fidgeted in front of him, being that he didn't even acknowledge her. Just a simple head nod, was all he gave her.

"Hey, you look nice." Ebony greeted him shyly as she pushed her hair behind her ear.

"Thanks." he responded dryly.

"Are you okay?"

"Just wanna get over this so I can go back home to my son where I don't have to see you." He responded coldly.

"What is wrong with you?" Ebony asked, confused by his off putting behavior.

"What the fuck is wrong with me?" He chuckled darkly and pointed a finger at her. "You wanna explain to me why the fuck he's here?" He referred to Aubrey. "Or maybe why you were shown all over social media with that nigga?"

"We're not together.  I don't have to explain shit to you." She loudly whispered trying not to make a scene.

"Why are you doing this? Here now if all places? Please don't ruin this day for me." Ebony pleaded him.
