Bakari and Ebony sat together at the dinner table conversing amongst each other for the first time in a long time.  Chef Deion made one of Ebony's favorite meals, stuffed lobster tails with grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes for the sides.  She was on her fourth glass of wine since the start of dinner and she was starting to feel it the moment she stood up.

The room felt as though it has moved underneath her feet.  "Woah,"

Bakari catches her by holding onto her shoulder and took her half empty wine glass in her hand. "I think that's enough wine for one night."  He suggests.

"What? I only felt it when I stood up..." she hiccups,  looking into his eyes as he still held her.

"Yeah you're not driving home tonight." He quickly shot down, helping her to the couch.

"Kari Im fine, I swear..." she attempted to prove him, but almost tripped over her feet on the way into the living room.

"Yeah, you're staying the night." He insisted.

"I don't wanna intrude—"

"I insist, plush it's not like we're not used to having sleepovers anyway." He shrugged, going back to the dining room to clear the table, he picked up Ebony's glass of wine and finished the rest of it before taking the glass and plates to load the dishwasher.

"Hey what happened to your girlfriend, Jayla? Are you two still a thing or not ?? I don't want her to think of this like I'm trying to get back with you or some shit."

"We broke up a few months ago...just before Kari's first birthday." Bakari spoke up from inside of the kitchen, packing up the leftover food.

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that." Ebony said out of common curtesy but really, she could care less about his ex.

"Nah It's fine, I could tell we weren't meant for each other and well for one she was an instagram model and two BJ didn't really like her.  He was always fussy around her." He chuckled to himself.

"Plus you guys didn't like her." He referred to his friends.  "I value my friends opinion on who I date."

"Why are you so interested in who I date all of a sudden? Aren't you and Drake dating?" He poked fun at her, leaving the kitchen soon after.

"I'm just curious who you've had around our son.  I don't really like new people around him.  And NO we're not dating although the feeling has always been mutual there's no privacy when I'm around him.  I just...I'm just doing me I just feel like I shouldn't rush anything and my focus is just on my son right now, it always has been." She says quietly.

"I'm sorry I got petty because of you and my brother...even though he used you to get back at me, he's very remorseful for the way that things went down.  I think you should talk to him...we've reconciled since, but my family is still being kind of hard on him because they've kinda picked favorites when dealing with him and I and I feel like he's always had this feeling that he's second best or like he's an outcast."

"What am I supposed to say?" Ebony asked him as she followed  Bakari into the kitchen and load the dishwasher.

"Just talk to him...ask him how he's doing, I've tried reaching out to him but he hasn't returned my calls lately."

"Just give him some space...I'm one of the few people he'll talk to so I'll talk to him, but I'm not doing this for you I'm doing this for him." Ebony sighed.

"Thanks," Bakari smiled.

"Yeah, yeah I know I'm amazing." Ebony chuckled.
