THREE MONTHS LATER
Atlanta, GA
September 🍂

"Ugh, I'm so glad you're back in Atlanta girl, I've missed you." Sheila said as she embraces her friend with a hug.

"And I've missed you too! So how's newlywed life going?" Ebony smiled as the two sat at their favorite cafe spot in Buckhead drinking mimosas as they waited for their food.

"It's sooo amazing like I still can't believe that I've found the love of my life. Even though we went all out for a Paris wedding, we honeymooned in Japan because you know Jamal's a huge anime nerd so we just fully indulged into their culture and ate a lot of food...sight seeing it was just beautiful I'll have to show the photos to you." Sheila said as she picked up her phone.

"How was Toronto with Aubrey?" She asked, handing her friend her phone.

"He's so sweet, I stayed with him up until he had to leave for tour...." Ebony explained as she started scrolling through Sheila's honeymoon photos. "...our relationship is closer than ever but I don't know I don't think I can see myself with him...his schedule and mine never matches up... and he's away most of the year touring or doing a press tour for something that he's apart of. I've been off the grid of social media detoxing but I know paparazzi has seen us everywhere or with his crew. Everywhere we go there's fans asking him for pictures, women trying to be with him I mean here's no sense of normalcy at all. It was different when I was with Bakari because even though his family is fucking rich no one knew who he was...he has a regular job as a brain surgeon and I liked that about him."

"So you and Aubrey?" Sheila asked.

"It's a no, for now. I just need to be by myself right now, make music and try to be there for my son." Ebony sighed, thanking the waiter as he placed their breakfast foods down. Ebony hands her best friends phone back.

The two thanked him simultaneously and started to dig in. Ebony smiled to herself, stuffing her mouth with eggs and French toast.

Sheila smiles at her best friend doing a happy dance because she finally got her food.

"Have you heard from Bakari?" Sheila asked.

"Uh, I'm actually supposed to meet him today to see my son. We're on speaking terms so our relationship is getting better."

"That's good to hear because chile you two were fighting like two newly divorced parents." Sheila pointed out.

"Well you have Bakari to thank for that. That nigga is stubborn as hell and is such a mommas boy sometimes he can't think for himself. I swear his family hates me."

"But aren't you and Erik and Bakari kind of cool now?"

"Bakari is still petty but he's better than his fucking rich ass aunties and his momma. The only aunt I still speak to on the regular is Aunt Jennifer believe it or not. Even though she's a keeping it real woman, she knows when her own family is in the wrong."

"Well that's a shocking turn of events." Sheila's eyes widened as she took another bite into her food.

"Yeah I know, but I love her she's the only one that accepts me for me amidst all this baby daddy drama with Bakari's family."

"My dad almost got into a fight with them at BJ's first birthday party for almost overhearing them talk shit about me behind my back. Hell I didn't know this even occurred but Shameik was able to break up the family feud. He was the one that told me."

"And that's why I like your dad he's a real ass nigga." Sheila chuckled.

"So about the holidays...how is this going to work out this year? And who's going where? Because Jamal's momma already discussed that it's going to be at her house this year in Jersey joined with Bakari's family. So if you decide to go we can go together and if they start talking shit I'll be able to back you up."
