That Awkward Moment

Bakari Jordan was a successful 30 year old doctor in Atlanta, GA.  He had relocated there with one of best friends from New Jersey, Jamal Thompson and met the love of his life, and second best friend after attending Morehouse College.  It was there where he met the love of his life, Vanessa Jordan.  The two met at a SpellHouse event where they quickly grew fond of each other.  The two became romantically involved and ended up becoming college sweethearts.  The two eventually got married at the ripe age of 23 with a whole life ahead of them.

At 26, Vanessa declared that she wanted kids. Bakari was overjoyed with this new revelation and ecstatic to give her everything that her heart desired.  Bakari and Vanessa attempted to have a baby being that they both now had stable income and a roof over their heads.  But, as simple and as fun making a baby seemed, the two were constantly in heartache after trying to make a baby.  After repeated failed attempts, the two met with their fertility specialist because of their fertility issues.  The situation was stressful to the couple, so they put their want for having a baby on the back burner and continued on with their every day lives, not wanting to deal with the disappointment of making a baby.

At 28, the two decided to go to a fertility clinic once again to go the In Vitro fertilization route, which ultimately worked, and the couple was happy that they were welcoming a baby.  Vanessa wasn't even two months into her first trimester when one night she woke up frantically in a pool of blood in between her legs.   Bakari rushed her to the nearest hospital in hopes of saving their baby, but it was too late.  From then on Vanessa and Bakari vowed that they would no longer get their hopes up and expect for the worse. 

Two years had passed since the miscarriage and Bakari was just now finishing up his last physical examination with his patient.  Mrs. Lynn an older Afro Latina woman who had continuously made advances at Bakari but he politely declined each time found it comical how horny he made his older patients feel.  After wrapping up a long day at work, he took off his lab coat in his office and checked his phone to see if there were any messages or missed calls from his wife.  There were none.

He found it odd that he had no messages or outstanding calls from his wife, but just a few reaction memes from his friends at a picture of a woman that his best friend sent in a group chat.  He chuckled to himself, quickly responding back before returning taking out his wallet and keys from his drawer in his office and opened up his home security system app to check and make sure that things were okay at home.  After checking the main rooms in the first floor, he then checks the bedroom to find out that his wife was having sex with another man. 

Bakari screen records the video for evidence and quickly exits out of the app before his feelings were hurt any worse . He was fuming about the situation, all he could see was red on the way home from leaving work.  After he returned home, he could see that the man whom his wife was seeing, was still there being that his car was parked in his driveway. 

After he parked his car, he calmed himself down before walking inside wanting to see if Vanessa would come clean about the entire situation.  He unlocks the front door and steps inside before closing and locking the door behind him. 

He walks into the living room where he hears talking and sees his wife fix her dress and hair before walking up to him to give him a kiss.  He quickly turned his head, giving her the cheek, and watches her take two steps back away from him.

"Hey baby, I wasn't expecting you to be home.  So soon." Vanessa smiled and turned around to see the man in the video that he had just watched was their marriage councilor.   Bakari raised his eyebrow in confusion as to why he was here and gestures over to him.

"Why is this nigga in our house?"

"Hmn? Oh I needed some help with some personal demons that I was facing and Doctor Lennard came over and he helped me out."
