"Congratulations Graduates!"

Sabay-sabay na naghiyawan at nagtangal ng kap ang mga estudyante matapos marinig and hudyat sa pagtatapos ng okasyon.

Two crazy years, countless challenges, thousand learnings. Entering the academy really became a huge influence in everyone's life.

The show has ended. The real life starts now.

"Maribel, let's take a picture!" Sigaw ni Andrea sabay yakap sa akin.

Nagdatingan naman sila Giorgina at James para makisali.

After the incident in Baguio, I never heard back from Stephen.

King handled the matter privately and asked for the police's cooperation.

He assured me that Stephen can never come near me again.

Months later, here we are at the end of the school year, and graduation.

I thought for a long time.

Maybe the reason why we allow others to return into our lives is because we didn't really believed we parted.

In our hearts, we are always waiting to be returned to. To be found back.

The large screen in the hall opened and it revealed a man wearing a white tuxedo. His face is blurred but this image has always been familiar to me.

" Hi, my dear students. "  King greeted.

The students greeted back in response. Everyone seemed very happy & excited.

He continued. " Congratulations on being a part of the elite group to graduate from this institution. All the joy, all the suffering, all the excitement that this place has brought to you, I hope you will treasure it with all your heart."

The crowd was listening intently to the touching speech.

" In the past, I created this institution as a tribute to someone important to me. She taught me a lot of things. She gave me a lot of pain, happiness, and sadness. All my experiences made me who I am today, and I am thankful for that. But sadly, I realized a very important thing in the end. Sometimes, we were so bewitched by the past, that we fail to see how beautiful the present is, and how promising the future will be. Sometimes, we even refuse to let go. But the truth is, we can only be free when we leave all our previous baggage behind us, and fully embrace the present.

Everyone went silent trying to find the meaning of those words.

" At this moment, I am announcing that Players Academy will no longer be a learning institution in the future. Starting today, it will be officially closed. Congratulations on being the last Batch.  I wish you all the best in the future."

Everyone was surprised and started to murmur among each other.

They could not believe what they heard.

Who would have thought?

That an exclusive institution will close this way, and on the day of graduation?

"No looking back. Just step forward. Flower, I'll be waiting for you at the place full of sunshine."

The last sentence seemed to be a message.

Sunshine?

Sunflower?

I think I know the place.

I rushed out of the hall to go that place.

The place where only few people can go in.

The only place in the academy where I can see him.

The place full of his spirit, his scent.

The place that trapped him, and freed him.

"Maribel, where are you going?" Asked Andrea.

I faced her smiling. " The Garden!"

I arrived at the place where King & I usually meet in the past.

I stopped and looked around the garden.

It was unusually bright at that time.

The sunshine has colluded with the air and I can only smell sunflowers all around me.

I entered the garden to see a white carpet in the middle.

Sunflowers surrounded the carpet  and they looked like waiving.

Then I saw him.

White tuxedo, standing in the opposite side of the carpet. King.

Sunshine temporarily blinded my eye preventing me from seeing the huge smile on his face.

My eyes lit up as I saw him.

"King!" I called him.

"I'm happy you got my message." He responded.

" I will kill you if you have other sunflower than me!" I threatened.

He laughed and moved forward inside the white carpet.

I moved forward to meet him in the middle.

Violin started playing with a grand piano.

I suddenly saw musicians around.

I haven't noticed them as I arrived.

"Ano to King?" I asked him, embarrassed.

"Maribel.." He held my hand and looked straight into my eyes. " I am closing the previous chapter of my life to start a new , will you be my heroine?"

My eyes started to water, I can feel the sincerity in his voice.

Letting go of past wounds, past hurts, it will never be easy.

But getting over it with someone you love, it might be worth it.

" I was also a victim of my past. Are you willing to accept me?" I asked.

He kissed my hands and held it tightly. "We are two broken people who can make each other whole. Don't you think we are meant to be?"

I hugged him and felt a drop of tear flow from my eyes. " Thank you."

" I love you. Marry me, Maribel."

We looked in each other's eyes hoping to find the answer to that question.

We are afraid. Afraid of getting hurt again. Afraid of falling deeply in love with no recourse.

But fear is just a defense mechanism.

The truth is, deep inside, we all want to be naked. To be new, to be reborn, to be loved again.

I'm ready.

To start again.

" Yes." I happily replied.

King kissed me lovingly while I put my hands behind his neck.

If this is the end version of a fairy tale.

This must be the happy ending.

A door must close so that another door can be opened.

Player's Academy will close, but it's just the start of my reality.
