I watch as the boys scatter through the buildings, followed by the reanimated scarecrows and I see Latimer run upstairs but I think nothing of it.
"Let's go. Quick as you can." The Doctor tells the boys
"Don't go to the village. It's not safe." I shout at them as they head out the back doors of the school,
"And you, ladies." The Doctor instructs
"Not till we've got the boys out." Joan tells him as we eventually get all of the boys out all five of us stood by a back wooden door.
"Now, I insist. The three of you, just go. If there are any more boys inside, Mister Elderton and I will find them." The Doctor says as he opens the door. There are scarecrows on the other side. He slams it shut and locks it.
"I think, retreat."While we were on the school grounds Clark is standing outside the building, shouting, as The Doctor, Joan, Will, myself and Martha hide in the bushes.
'Doctor! Doctor!' Clark calls out to him as he has the TARDIS with him.
'Come back, Doctor. Come home. Come and claim your prize.''Out you come, Doctor. There's a good boy. Come to the Family.'
'Time to end it now.'
"You recognise it, don't you?" Will asks The Doctor quietly so that we couldn't be found
'Come out, Doctor. Come to us!'
"I've never seen it in my life." He pretends
"Do you remember its name?" Will continues
"I'm sorry, John, but you wrote about it. The blue box. You dreamt of a blue box." Joan tells him slightly sadly
"I'm not. I'm John Smith. That's all I want to be. John Smith, with his life, and his job, and his love. Why can't I be John Smith? Isn't he a good man?" The Doctor cries slightly in fear and despair.
"Yes. Yes, he is." Joan calms him
"Why can't I stay?"
"But we need the Doctor." I say softly more to myself as I look at the TARDIS being guarded
"What am I, then? Nothing. I'm just a story." The Doctor runs away and I frown in sadness before following after them all. We then made it to a country lane.
"This way. I think I know somewhere we can hide." Joan says so we all stop running
"We've got to keep going." The Doctor tells her seriously
"Just listen to me for once, John. Now, follow me." She tells him as she runs down a separate road and very quickly we all follow her at quick paces.
"Oh, here we are. It should be empty. Oh, it's a long time since I've run that far." Joan says as she pants slightly while we stop in front of a little while cottage,"But who lives here?" Martha asks her curiously
"If I'm right, no one." Joan replies as we enter and it is dark inside. The table is laid for tea.
"Hello? No one home. We should be safe here.""Whose house is it, though?" I ask
"Er, the Cartwrights. That little girl at the school, she's Lucy Cartwright, or she's taken Lucy Cartwright's form. If she came home this afternoon and if the parents tried to stop their little girl, then they were vanished." Joan touches the teapot.
"Stone cold. How easily I accept these ideas.""I must go to them, before anyone else dies." The Doctor says as he heads for the door
"You can't. Alexandria, there must be something we can do." Joan turns to me,
