After a lengthy phone call that The Doctor had with The Master he turns to look at the rest of us.
"He's got control of everything." He says
"What do we do?" Will asks while holding my hand
"We've got nowhere to go." Jack says
"Doctor, what do we do?" I ask seriously
"We run." The Doctor tells us so that's exactly what we did, we ran for what seemed hours and hours until we ended up in an old factory that was out of the way from any other human contact. The Doctor still had my laptop so he had that placed on top of an old wooden crate while he looked through the internet trying to find some things out that would be helpful. Will returned with a bag of takeaway food.
"How was it?" Jack asked him because now thanks to The Master all of us were the UK's most wanted people.
"I don't think anyone saw me. Anything new?" Will replied before nodding towards the laptop
"I've got this tuned to government wavelengths so we can follow what Saxon's doing." Jack says
"Yeah, he meant about my family." I say coldly
"It still says the Maidstone family taken in for questioning. Tell you what, though. No mention of Leo." The Doctor says to me
"He's not as stupid as he looks." I joke before my face falls with realisation
"I'm talking about my brother on the run. How did this happen?" I sigh heavily"Nice chips." Jack says
"Actually, they're not bad." The Doctor says, I then nudge Jack on the shoulder to ask The Doctor more about The Master.
"So, Doctor, who is he? How come the ancient society of Time Lords created a psychopath?"
"And what is he to you? Like a colleague or—" I ask
"A friend, at first."
"I thought you were going to say he was your secret brother or something." I reply
"You've been watching too much TV."
"But all the legends of Gallifrey made it sound so perfect." Jack mentioned,
"Well, perfect to look at, maybe. And it was. It was beautiful. They used to call it the Shining World of the Seven Systems, and on the Continent of Wild Endeavour, in the Mountains of Solace and Solitude, there stood the Citadel of the Time Lords, the oldest and most mighty race in the universe, looking down on the galaxies below. Sworn never to interfere, only to watch. Children of Gallifrey, taken from their families age of eight to enter the Academy. Some say that's when it all began. When he was a child. That's when the Master saw eternity. As a novice, he was taken for initiation. He stood in front of the Untempered Schism. It's a gap in the fabric of reality through which could be seen the whole of the vortex. You stand there, eight years old, staring at the raw power of time and space, just a child. Some would be inspired, some would run away, and some would go mad. Brr. I don't know." The Doctor explained to us all in great detail it was almost as if I could picture what he was telling us in my mind very vividly.
"What about you?" Will asked him
"Oh, the ones that ran away, I never stopped." The Doctor says just as Jack's bracelet beeps.
"Encrypted channel with files attached. Don't recognise it." Jack says
"Patch it through to the laptop."
"Since we're telling stories, there's something I haven't told you." Jack pulls up something on my laptop that read 'Torchwood'
"You work for Torchwood." The Doctor says in slight annoyance
