It had been a year. A whole year since I was aboard the Valiant, I had been travelling on my own for a whole year and it was tiring, it was unbearable to do but it needed to be done. I wasn't just doing this for The Doctor now I was doing it for myself. A man signals to a rowing boat offshore with an oil lamp. It comes in and I get out, the boat and its crew leave.

"What's your name, then?" I ask the man

"Tom Milligan. No need to ask who you are. The famous Aria Maidstone. How long since you were last in Britain?" Tom asked me

"Three hundred and sixty five days. It's been a long year." I tell him as we start walking off the beach.

"So what's the plan?" Tom asks me

"This Professor Docherty. I need to see her. Can you get me there?" I ask

"She works in a repair shed, Nuclear Plant Seven. I can get you inside. What's all this for? What's so important about her?"

"Sorry, the more you know, the more you're at risk." I say

"There's a lot of people depending on you. You're a bit of a legend." Tom tells me

"What does the legend say?"

"That you sailed the Atlantic, walked across America. That you were the only person to get out of Japan alive. Alexandria Maidstone, they say, she's going to save the world. Bit late for that." Tom shrugs as we walk up to a flat bed van.

"How come you can drive? Don't you get stopped?" I asked curiously

"Medical staff. Used to be in paediatrics back in the old days. But that gives me a licence to travel so I can help out other the labour camps."

"Great. I'm travelling with a doctor." I roll my eyes at the thought, Tom and I then climbed into the vehicle.

"Story goes that you're the only person on Earth who can kill him. That you, and you alone, can kill the Master stone dead." Tom says as he looks over at me but I don't answer his assumption

"Let's just drive." I tell him seriously. It took us very long hours but eventually Tom managed to get me to where I needed to be, a giant statue of the Master stands above the rocks.
"All over the Earth, those things. He's even carved himself into Mount Rushmore." I said

"Best to keep down. Here we go. The entire south coast of England, converted into shipyards. They bring in slave labour every morning. Break up cars, houses, anything, just for the metal. Building a fleet out of scrap." Tom tells me as we hide over a stoney hill and see a fleet of space rockets.

"You should see Russia. That's Shipyard Number One. All the way from the Black Sea to the Bering Strait, there's a hundred thousand rockets getting ready for war." I explained

"War? With who?"

"The rest of the universe. I've been out there, Tom, in space, before all this happened, and there's a thousand different civilisations all around us with no idea of what's happening here. The Master can build weapons big enough to devastate them all."

"You've been in space?"

"Problem with that?"

"No. No, just er, wow. Anything else I should know?"

"I've met Shakespeare." I smirk just as two spheres fly in from behind the statue.

'Identify, little man.'

"I've got a licence. Thomas Milligan, Peripatetic Medical Squad. I'm allowed to travel. I was just checking for—" Tom stutters in fear

'Soon the rockets will fly, and everyone will need medicine. You'll be so busy.' The spheres fly off to the shipyard, laughing.
